Starlink on overland rack: Old vs New Style?

I have V3, but am not using it with a 12v yet. Its flat mounted to the top of my 5er. No issues, the app shows a “ tilt to 21 degrees” message. But I have not had any speed issues, streaming, Chromecast, Vid and teleconference and VPN for work. I used https://www.trioflatmount.com/

    Starlink, Google Maps, Southern Africa

Starlink works great. I have yet, to not be impressed with it. I have a gen 3. Flat mounted. I have not tried to use it in motion, but I know they have an option for that. And I can’t speak specifically to its use in Africa. The Forum could possibly use a dedicated Starlink Sub thread. It...

Slow Road from Az to N Id, indirectly…

Thanks for sharing, I don’t know how I missed this thread earlier. Wallowa lake is great! I agree, a lot to do up that way. The dog sled race from there is great, I also spent a few years taking horses into the backcountry from there. Oh Bend, I do not miss you per say. Great location, as far...

    Yetti's 19 ZR2 ( Zelda)

Looks great! Of note, don’t make a habit of using the tailgate rail as a handle to climb into the bed. Your tailbone will thank you. I forget that at least once a year.

re-charging a big power station while driving

In my truck camper, I have 300w solar, and the 4awg wire from the truck through an Anderson connector and a victron 12/12 30 DC/DC. It keeps my 200amp/hr lithium charged all the time. Its not even on the truck and my fridge has not been turned off since I installed it a few years ago. Separate...

    Yetti's 19 ZR2 ( Zelda)

I think you will really like it. If you have a heated place to install it, and a second pair of hands it may be helpful. If the fabric is cold, it won’t stretch like it should, especially at first. Edit, I just saw you are listed in Florida. So probably dont need a heated area. :)

Yetti’s Pacific North West Exploration & Expeditions Picture heavy

Its looking like a good chance of some Motorcycles and Peru this November. Albiet only for a few weeks. And for med kit, continuity and my own records. I gel, Narcan, and body bag (can also be used as stretcher but would suck) added to the main kit bag. Sent from my Titan using Tapatalk

AbleGuy, No worries, glad to do it. I take for granted I think all my background sometimes, and its mundane for me. I enjoy sharing and teaching though. And if folks found it valuable and or learned something, or made em think. Always a win. + at work right now, I have no shortage of time. It...

Lee's '04 Chevy Silverado 2500HD and Radica MoonLander camping shell

I still have her, start it up and drive a loop every few weeks. My brother still uses his, the one that went to Argentina as a shop truck in Reno. I am chasing a gremlin in mine, which is part of the reason I have not loaded the camper up and gone anywhere. I still enjoy seeing them out and...
