Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

All this hoopla....I still want to see 2 things on the Superlite that GFC is keeping secret, at least to the general public. And that is the vehicle mounting method "Quick Connect system" and a demo of how it opens and closes. Then we can get a better feel for the tent, IMHO.

Colorado Built Boreas AT, XT, MXT Teardrop!

Since your water tanks are mounted outside and you have the propane heater for the cabin and cold weather, are your water tanks heated or do you have the option for a heated water tank for extended camping in below freezing weather?

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

The Superlite RTT is a clever approach, but it will catch some existing RTT owners off guard. I'm sure Go Fast isn't trying to pull a fast one, but with 2 essentials as options (mattress & ladder), the price will jump about $400 to include these. I liked the 80# weight and the price was even...

    Eureka Ignite propane stove

That's a neat idea! My plan is to have it slide out & be at 90 degrees from the sink. Sort of like a corner counter in a kitchen. At least it should free up counter space for meal prep. I haven't seen a slide that could do that, except for keyboard trays. But they're not big or strong enough to...

    Eureka Ignite propane stove

Well the one and only trip I've managed during this lockdown was a 3 days/2 nights off road jaunt and the stove itself worked flawlessly. However, even though smaller and more compact than my Coleman, it still takes up considerable counter space. So I'll be attempting to fab up an under the...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

One other issue, actually more of a dissapointment, that surfaced on my shakedown camping trip is the galley or kitchen. The sink and stove setup has to be improved, especially after looking at the galley in this trailer. I looked at this Boreas trailers thread here on Expo and have been...

Colorado Built Boreas AT, XT, MXT Teardrop!

As a 3 Feathers Mfg. Trail Head owner, I'm very impressed. I especially like the galley and have some specific questions. I'll send you a PM.

    RamCruiser...the build

Thanks, Phil! Yeah, minimum pics and not enough details provided. I saw the PS door & rear bumper damage. Asking price was a little under NADA book. I wouldn't even try to haul my camper with a truck like this. If I went this direction it would be to downsize from my Lance, to a more offroadable...

    RamCruiser...the build

Hey @LandCruiserPhil do you think this is a good deal? I was just curious and looking around my area on CL and found this 2006 PW ..... No mention of the features you listed except the winch. Fairly low miles, has an A/T & it's about a 6-7 hr drive for me to see it. Power Wagons are kinda rare...

Alu-Cab Has Landed In The USA!

That RV-5 is a great idea, the way you're using it! The Alu-Cab wall kit uses the same type of velcro wraps to attach to the poles. At least with your RV-5 you have a bug proof area that you can retreat into when they get bad. Throw a tarp down for a floor under the Shadow and it makes a nice...

My 315/75/16's fit similar on the front of my 80 with an OME 2.5" lift. I just compared our 2 sizes on my tire calculator. Your size is a skoash larger.

Is that your truck? What tires are those? I can't read the sidewall, but they look good. Might have to trim.

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

A problem that surfaced on my Owyhee trip was the fenders contacting the tires during suspension flex when loaded with camping gear. The rims that came with the trailer were an alloy 5.5" x 15". Their back space caused the tires to hang outside the fenders aprox 2" - they didn't have enough of a...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

My wall kit does not protect me much from insects. My under the trailer barriers helped the 1st night some, but eventually, the pests invade. I put tarps down inside the "annex" for a floor, which really helps because the coco burrs or whatever they were - were terrible on bare feet or your...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

Off exploring this week On roads like this - which is not much trouble on the flat, but I had a descent of aprox 2000' and then will have to climb out of in 100*F heat. Thank God for the excellent A/C in my LC! Made it to my camp and just as I was deploying awning and trying to set up wall...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

The air bags arrived and are installed, in spite of Cottonwood season, here.....ugg. Here's a tip for those who might install a set in your rig. The instructions lead you to believe you can install the line on the bag after you have re-installed your springs with bags back on the axle. I...

2018 Three Feathers Mfg. 'Trail Head'

Well as an update, I attempted to meet up with the ROF group for the RimRocker run in Colorado and Utah but had a setback. I wasn't paying close attention to tongue weight and the capacity of my rear springs. In the pic below that I previously posted, both trailer and LC were unloaded: As you...

Rimrocker and Kokopellis Trails June 2020

As I'm getting the image of that out of my head o_O...... I think I get what you intended.:ROFLMAO: That makes me wonder about Hiker's decision to route the line where they did. He must've had a spare with him to fix that. I'm not sure I'd have thought to carry a spare. Thanks Gary, for the...

Rimrocker and Kokopellis Trails June 2020

From the pics of the trailer it looks like he has leaf springs. Was it an airbag setup & do you know what part was leaking? I'll have to watch my suspension. I don't have air bags - just leafs on my trailer. It's my rig that needs the air bags. Weight adds up quicker than I imagined. More tongue...

    RamCruiser...the build

Phil, it does have impressive articulation and sounds like it's good news that your frame is not flexing to cause contact with the close clearance between your cab and camper. I've read and heard though, that flexibility (limited of course) is where a well designed truck frame excels above the...
