Thanks William, the tie down system is by highlift and it rocks! Very beefy and well made.
The tires clear with lots of room, these springs have little articulation and even small shackles, so there isn't a need for lots and lots of clearance.
Thanks! :D
For your latching mechanism, I would look at the De Sta Co latches for sure. The reason the one Slee Offroad sells may rattle a bit is because it is clamping in a linear direction. I used the 90* clamp/latch. It is rated at 2000#'s of clamping force and I have never ever had one rattle.

Very cool thread-
I would go with a used early 90's Toyota Pickup, and strap AT's box to the rear with the RTT.
Add a freezer and new suspension and tires, and you are really close to being set up.
An 80 series with cargo room/drawers and a few camping creature comforts could get you out...
My local Sams club has 12v Marine batteries from Energizer for 67 bucks, they state, 115 amp hours!
Anyone used one? They have a three year replacement warranty and all. They do not appear to be sealed.
Thanks!
Dude- you always amaze me with the random stuff you know! :D Thanks!

What a great little resto man! Good job!

I am looking at skinning my trailer with steel soon. I plan on spot welding the panels into place but I am curious as to what products to be looking at for sealing up all the edges? What are some comercial or industrial grade names of products? I am looking for the best stuff between price and...
Martyn was suggesting to steer clear of the C channel. Tubing in the same thickness as C channel will nearly double the strength of the material. Do you have any idea of estimated gross weight?
I think you are in the right neighborhood, depeding on your weight.
FWIW, most of the companies are...
My local HD sells the 5# bottles off the shelf for 35ish bucks. Then hit up the local welding shop in your area and you can get the cylinder clamp that fits for about 25 bucks.
FWIW, I am going with as many propane accessories as i can use on my trailer, and I bought two 11# bottles and clamps...
I gotta be honest, I think a lot of people are sandblasting these things because "everyone else is doing it." You are looking at a Mil-spec paint job on most of these things, i would sand and prime the rough spots and scuff the rest. Pick your color and shoot it.
Mil-spec finishes will outlast...
