Insulation insulation insulation! Sheesh my fingers hurt, lol. Filling all the cracks and packing it in anywhere I can fit it. It's coming together slowly though. I also added some blocking where I will need extra wall attachment points. Can't wait to get the walls up.
Sounds like a great start to a rig build to me. And I agree, I much prefer the GMT800 over the 900. Probably the best GM vehicle years IMO.
Excursion would also be on my short list with a better frame and solid front axle, but you will trade some reliability in the gasoline engine department...
Yes I was surprised. It's pretty fitting to the tank. And the draw string at the bottom pulls pretty tight. I do think they have some for 30s as well. But fits this 20# bottle pretty dang well.
Doing some more to the interior finally. But before I could do anything inside, I needed to strip off all the front accessories outside. And instead of thru-bolting them into the wall, I added rivnuts since once the interior walls are up, there will be no more interior access to the nuts. Then...
That's cool as heck. I've not ridden one since my 20's, so I'd be a lost cause, but I remember the balance it took to stand on one. Had to be quick, and not pull to one side harder than the other. Keep the nose up unless you want to endo like the chick above. 🤣
Mainly curious of the wiring and how it was run into the top. Glands used, etc. And also curious what you did for the electric panel. I'm pulling all my stuff out of the trailer for interior now and honestly trying to get more ideas. I like seeing different setups and mixing what I like about each.
Baja designs is good, and it's what I went with since most my other stuff is that way. But Morimoto has them all beat for output and warranty. I'd go that way if I wasn't solidly 8 sets of lights into BD.
I think Diode Dynamics is a bit too blue/white for my eyes and they get annoying after a...
Was a rainy day today, so I didn't get to work on my trailer at all, but decided to get the propane tank brackets made, and caught a break this afternoon to bolt it on. I used some L track studs, and cut some 6061 1/4" plate to the dimensions I needed, and drilled everything out on the press. I...
Thank you! And yes, the quality of this camper is amazing. I have ZERO doubt, as you say, of many many years of fun and exploration.
Awesome that you still have yours as well. Seems most keep them a very long time, which speaks volumes.
Yes. We had some friends that had that entire setup. Can't tell you the jealousy we had for it while cooking on our old 425s. 🤣
Luckily they shared in the spoils with some cinnamon buns which she used to make. It really does work well.
