    Shrinking demand for RV Towables.

The aging surplus inventory is sitting around looking for owners. Word is out that the covid-era build quality was awful. Pricing based on peak demand means a lot of these things are going to be left to sit.

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

I got a set as a gift a few years ago from a company called Neoflam. It is the most non-stick easy-clean set of cookware I've ever used.

    cell phone cases..

I like the Otterbox Commuter cases with glass screen protectors. It adds minimal bulk, but ideal grip improvement and excellent protection. I'm running an iPhone 11, which is submersible in its bare form, so I didn't need to worry about a waterproof case. 3 years on, dozens if not hundreds of...

    Self build facilities

I don't know what these facilities are called, but I know there's one in Virginia Beach. https://americandiyg.com/adiyg/ The downside is cost. Unless you're extremely skilled and work fast, there's a good possibility it would be cheaper to have a mechanic with his own bay do the work for you.

    Best Pee Jars?

The complications that would arise from any usage that is less than 100% perfect carry too much risk. I'm climbing my ass down. I keep a flashlight at my side and a pair of sandals at the door.

    What Happened to KennyJ's thread?

His stories were some of my favorites as well. The thread is archived, though most of the photos are absent. https://web.archive.org/web/20210118094045/https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/my-solo-wanderings-of-the-west.128075/

    Flat AGM's

I don't know if it's real or not either, but if anybody has a dead AGM to donate, I'll give it a try.

    Flat AGM's

I've used the trick before where you hook a good battery in parallel to the bad battery to trick the charger into starting. You can remove the good battery after 5 minutes or so. Some modern batteries have their own protective measures. If the parallel charge start doesn't work, I've heard...

    The Status of Overlanding Today

I guess you'll have to call him Richard around here. I've been on 29s, 31s, 33s, and 35s on a variety of rigs. I am again in a stock rig, albeit on the heavy side. I am running 32x10.50 MTs. At street pressure and with no rear locker, they have occasionally left me wanting. Aired down to a...

Where to mount Solar Controller (Tacoma)

I had the Renogy Wandered and BT-1 module. Both lived happily screwed to the lid of the OEM fuse panel.

Is a RTT or ground tent better for my use?

Where the RTT is still advantageous is that you won't have to find a way to carry it along. It will also let you store your bedding inside, and includes a mattress in lieu of sleeping pads or cots that you would need with a ground tent, saving precious room inside the vehicle. In the event of...

Is a Land Cruiser really better off-road than a Tacoma? My experience says the opposite..

If you can fit all your people and gear into a single-cab pickup, Go for it. I did it for years. But these days I prefer a little more space to carry a little more stuff to ensure a little more comfort that lets me stay out for a lot longer.

    The Dometic CFX3 Mega Thread

For those of you than run your fridge daily, what is the best power configuration you've found? On my FJ, I had added a large AGM, an upgraded alternator, and a hard-mounted 100w solar panel. This worked great in the city where an unobstructed parking lot gave the battery a continuous charge...
