Let me state unequivocally, and for the world to see and the world to know:
As of the time of this writing, i would buy this trailer again. Without a doubt.
That being said, I'd be inclined to forego the traditional dealer process, the laughable warranty and either find one second hand or at...
The factory AC design is pretty atrocious. You won't see better than 10° of difference from outside the camper to inside the camper. Even with a proper return. I know. I've done it, and this was the result.
I did almost exactly this same modification. You're going to need to upgrade your fridge circuit breaker. DM me on facebook if you want. I'll send you the kit I used.
Yes. My gf and I have experienced 40mph sustatined with 55mph gusts. A lot of rocking of the whole trailer, but no issues...
We definitely agree on something and I'm glad you could type it out for others to see:
"What could a non-owner without tools, skills or patience know about about off-roading in a Dweller?"
The definitions of those terms are subjective and variable to the person using them. Your definition may differ than mine.
Dweller's design intent was to get owners into the remote backcountry, where other trailers can not go, comfortably, safely and with little to no problems, at an...
I'd argue that you are not the average off-road trailer buyer. You're the minority. The average off-road trailer buyer probably acknowledges that things aren't going to be perfect, and are equipped to handle it. You may be.... The average RV tourist. Or maybe the average boon docker. And there's...
They really are great trailers. They're built well. They're comfortable. And they need minimal modifications to hang with trailers twice the price. Highly recommend them.
I changed the hitch, shocks and batteries. All of which, I could have waited. They had not failed me, at all. I changed them because they make my life easier and more convenient.
If someone doesn't have skills to repair or upgrade stuff, trailer ownership is not for them. Any trailer.
Yes. One message board. This one. I'm also on all of the Dweller Facebook groups. Are you?
Why didn't my Dweller have "many issues" over 900 miles of Wyoming backcountry?
Why didn't my Dweller have ONE SINGLE ISSUE over 900 miles of Wyoming backcountry?
If there really are "many issues" -...
I'm getting on the record, your real world experience, with OBi and otherwise.
So... That those reading your comments, have the full picture. You know.... As someone who has never owned or used a Dweller or dealt with them as a company. Just someone who sees a few points of concern on one...
Yeah, after doing 900 miles of unpaved Wyoming back country, I can definitely call myself a subject matter expert on the build quality on OBi Dwellers. 0 failures. They are pretty incredible trailers, given their price point.
