Jealous you got 42k. I was speaking with a salesman named Warren and wouldn't respond to me after I asked for 42k and willing to fly soon to pick it up.
So I used to work in R&D for a US automotive brand and I'd have to say this is not true.
I think where you were getting with unibody strength and brake sizing is more along the lines of reasons why certain vehicles have lower tow ratings. There isn't marketing behind it, its safety...
Yeah totally agree with its looks. You have to lift them and add huge bumpers for them to be decent.
The reason to go with one is for the towing capacity and durability. I know of a few people that were sad to sell their transit because they liked them so much but needed to tow a travel trailer...
I was actually interested in this not too long ago but after reading about how heavy those FWC's can get its obvious this setup is probably way over GVWR.
