Good news was that Matthew didn't impact us too much. Rain and a bit of wind but nothing to really dampen the expo. Better report to follow but here is where we roughed it.

Made it. Not enough cell service to post photos. But 2250 miles at 50 mph average and 10.4 mpg. And when I get a chance I will post the video of the smoking brakes from coming down the hills in the Smokey Mountain National Park.

It's hard waking to a scene like this. Yesterday we did over 100 miles of tree lined 2 lane road without a stop sign or traffic lights. I had no idea anything like this existed in the USA. Fantastic.

Bugger. Looks like a stop at the outfitters for some mud boots. Not much use for them or raincoats in Phoenix. Might even need to rethink the solar strategy.

A bit of each. So far 1 night at a rest area, 1 night at a state park campground and then 1 night at a Walmart. Sleeping and generally eating in the vehicle except where we are just trying to make miles.

Good day today. 250 miles without taking the cruise control off. Finished with Texas. And averaging 10mpg. I'm happy with that.

Cruise control is for wimps. Yep and I am a wimp. It is the best improvement I have done to this vehicle bar none. We did the following after working all day and hitting the road at 6:30

Yep we will be at expo east in the feature vehicles area. Look for the boxing Kangaroo flag.

Gentle in a "hold my beer and watch this" sort of a way. And I can strap a tire to the. Ike rack if I have to. But it is only a tire without a rim. These tires are hard to come by so I figured if I have a catastrophic failure I have a tire someone else can fit for me. And small punctures etc...
