Insurance for a custom expo vehicle

I will chase done a buddy in the industry and see who he recommends. He has handles all the oddball stuff I throw at him as well as about a dozen foreign travelers and their bikes/trucks/RV's. The other obvious thing to do is keep a good track with receipts of all work done. You will need that...

    Freightliner ambulance conversion project.

I think you hit the nail on the head. It does have a AC-off-Heat switch in the back on the switch panel. It also has a 3 speed blower rotary switch. Which is marked lo-Med-Hi (it should actually be marked "you cannot feel it, maybe a little bit, the strength of a dead seagull farting") actually...

    AmboLander

Ah a quick bit of google found what I was thinking about. http://www.dieselsite.com/dieselsite203thermostat.aspx WHY A LONG STEM AND NOT A SHORT STEM? Although International still uses a 203° thermostat in some applications and that thermostat is available at most auto parts stores, it is...

    AmboLander

Be very careful with the thermostat. From memory (risky with my age) there is a difference between the ford/international genuine parts and the aftermarket stuff that fits in the hole. I think the ford/international ones have a longer shaft or something. Anyway I would suggest doing a bit of...

    Freightliner ambulance conversion project.

Thanks Bob. It does have the wires and resistor block. Then there is another set of wires going into the evaporator. These have been extended with non coded wires so I will need to chase back into the circuit to see where they go. For the moment I have it running and will wait until I can run a...

    Freightliner ambulance conversion project.

Ok chased back and found a loose wire in the wiring mess under the console in the cab. Still never found the thermostat. Mine has a switch for heat/AC in the module. There is 2 sets of wires in the blower area. I am figuring one of these must be the thermostat but there is definitely nothing in...

Switch and relays setup. I do know where the vac pump and control valves are. I will start my Sherlocking there tomorrow.

    Freightliner ambulance conversion project.

After getting some handy info and recharging my cab AC it is finally working, well sort of working. Very low airflow so I have ordered an anemometer and will check and see what it is actually delivering. Bob also pointed me in the direction of running the module AC and leaving the door open. I...

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Where is the thermostat for the rear AC on yours. I have looked all through the box and cannot find one. The spare wires I thought were for the thermostat are for another fan (according to the label on the wire)? I just went out and checked the wiring diagrams. There is not a thermostat in the...

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Yeah my airflow wouldn't blow out a wet match. Hmmm I might look at the box air conditioning next.

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Thanks for the AC info Bob. I found that I didn't add enough gas (difference between 800 and 1500 RPM). Saved me replacing the compressor, dryer and Tx valve. My vent temps are OK now but the airflow is low. Just ordered an anemometer just to see how bad it is and will try to find one to compare...

Header wrap to keep heat off of tranny and rear shock.

You can paint it to stop water wicking. Not sure what the stuff I used on the Ambo but it set like a rock.

    M1078 LMTV expedition vehicle build

The old one has less things to fail. The new one gives more information on condition if you have the ability to read it. Asking that question is a good way to start a brawl in a pub full of earth moving guys. My preference is the new one. Easier on my old body to diagnose problems and it gives...

    M1078 LMTV expedition vehicle build

Injection method (which in a diesel equates to timing and ignition). The 3116 has a mechanical injection pump where as the C7 has injection controlled by computer activating individual injectors (HEUI). The HEUI uses hydraulic oil pressure through individual solenoid controlled to provide high...

    1994 International 4700 Conversion Begins

I went with a 30# bottle (just because of the cabinet height). I would love to be able to tell you how long it lasts but I don't have that info. Never had to fill it yet and that has been about 5-6 weeks of travel in the boonies. I do have a little 5# bottle just for the stove/bbq so I can take...
