Got a few things done in the last week, including the following:
Installed the Air Lift airbags and Daystar cradles, though as you can see from the photos, I'm not especially proud of how they're lined up. There's no template included, so you have to figure out the alignment on your own for...
Well, after all this discussion, I went ahead and ordered the NH Overland engine bay bracket. The deciding factor was looking at how much room the case was taking up in the drawers and knowing that I could recapture the space if I mounted the compressor in the engine bay.
I realized that I hadn’t come back here with photos from the portable installation I did. I used a case from Harbor Freight. Right now the wiring is a mess because I haven’t taken the time to reduce it down to just what I need for an on/off switch. It’s still the entire harness. Also discovered...
Great! Thank you. Did you need to install the manifold for it to work?
I like where you have the switches mounted. I wonder if you could even clip it over that lip instead of doing a screw mount.
It lives! Finally figured out the wiring issue. There is one wire that connects to the ignition and the switch doesn’t work without power coming from it
It’s definitely a bit of a wiring mess at the moment, but just psyched to have mobile air now.
That’s awesome. Great setup. I just sold my deposit on a GFC a few weeks ago when my build slot came up (for a bit more than I put down back in February). We were originally going that direction, but then realized we would have to move the bed panels in and out to get below, which is where kiddo...
They do, but it only occupies the top half of that massive screen. So you get full screen nav from the included system, but you can’t run full screen CarPlay. @Todd n Natalie
Agreed. Mine will be for sale come December/January once the Super Pacific is installed. In the meantime, it helps to keep things dry on trips and running around town. Just have to empty it in the evening or move things into the drawers. @jadmt
I've made a few additions to the truck over the past few weeks.
First, I installed my ARB twin compressor into a Harbor Freight case that is much like a Pelican case. After install though, it won't turn on. I wrapped up my initial effort Sunday evening and won't be able to tackle figuring...
After further research I can still use the PowerSwitch with the ARB, just need to wire the compressor directly to the battery and use a switch wire to the PowerSwitch.
Sweet. Did you consider the ARB awning of similar style when buying this one? Was curious if there was anything specific that swayed your decision, if you did check it out.
The amp draw on the ARB twin compressor is greater than the PowerSwitch, so I think I'll have to find another solution. For now, I'm thinking about just mounting it in a milk crate for the short term until I use the truck more and get a feel for where I want to put it and how we use the Decked...
Unfortunately, not on the Power Wagons. They’re available on the standard 2500s.
I’m thinking about installing a Garmin PowerSwitch under the hood (like a SwitchPro or SPod), which would alleviate the need to install switches in the cab. You can use Bluetooth and a Garmin app on your phone to...
It’s a brand new truck, I currently like the clean look of the interior without additional switches, and I don’t really want to cut into the dash to install the switch.
