    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

I guess this is becoming my signature on the conversions. If you want to know if you have an authentic Raul's 4x4 van, look for the leather-wrapped steering wheel. I did this on my previous one. This looks better. Using a 40-year-old piece of leather from the couch of the house I grew up. I...

Most of the time. There were some stretches of hard packed sand, but most of it was softer. I went down to 25 psi from 65 psi on the 285/75r18 tires.

    Ford 7.3L Godzilla Swap!

You really missed the 7.3, didn't you? I always like your builds. Now I'm really excited about this one.

    "One Less Sprinter" Econoline Build

Nice videos. How do you like the PowerTrax locker on day to day driving? It's my understanding they are kind of noise on tight turns and quite abrupt on slipery situations.

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

On today's episode: Trip to Padre Island National Seashore park Rebuilt front Driveshaft New end section of the tail pipe. Upgraded and finished the roof rack I wanted to go to the end of Padre Island for a long time as it seems to have the nicest beaches Texas has to offer. The Gulf of...

More lights and Bedroom furniture re-arrangement. the relay board on the swicth pannel was defective. Good customer service from the vendor got me a new one. Rear E-locker is not controlled by 30A solid state relay. The "aux" (10A) controls a 500A solenoid for the winch (Red circle n the...

    Ford E-Series seat swivel options?

Don’t want to turn this into tech considerations of seat belts, but I think you are not considering that the seatbelt buckle is bolted to the base. out of the three point of the belt, two are on one side, bolted to the body, the other side is the base.

    Ford E-Series seat swivel options?

I believe I have used on both of my vans the one from Blingmyrig. the user name is 1der or something like it. I used only the passenger side. I like them, easy to use, not a significant change in seat location or height (maybe a little bit taller). On my newer van, I was able to use the base...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Keeping up with the maintenance. the AC failed. The high-pressure line broke at the connection on the compressor. This happened to my previous van too. Luckily this time, this didn't happened at the beginning of a summer road trip and I have the chance to fix it myself. I guess the vibration of...

Stereo receiver w backup camera recommendations

I would stay away from wireless also. I do not think you need a $1000+system. On my old van (2010 E350) I had a $200 double DIN Kenwood and worked great. I had a switch to activate the camarea with front and rear camera. On my current van (2012 E350) I got a generic "Tesla" type double DIN...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Near Rosweel, a nice place to visit if you are in the area are the cenotes on Bottomless Lakes State Park. Probably not worth a long drive to get there, but if you are in the area I had nice neightbours paying a visit as I was changing before picking up dinner. After that, it was just...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Back to the summer trip. Five weeks after the transmission broke down, I flew back to Salt Lake City to pick up the van and drive it home. I should have brought it to Advance 4x4 since they are in SLC, but the breakdown happened on a Friday afternoon and we were already out of town... I decided...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

I'll get back to finish the summer trip later on. I've been experiencing some lack of performance. On the Christmas ski trip to Colorado, the van struggled on the mountain passes. I'm afraid the cats are clogged. I've run a few gallons of Lacquer Thinner hoping it will help but I'm not sure. In...

    First "vanlife" post...

Congrats. As mentioned already, a locker on the rear or LSD and good tires will help a lot. My first van was 2wd and with AT tires, slightly taller springs, and LSD in the rear took us to a lot of places. A front hitch will allow you to install a winch for self-recovery. You can block the...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Both. One broke down in no time and the second one I feel took advantage and charged a lot for a rebuild and try to charge even more. The chronology of my transmission ordeal was this: 1- Took the trans out and took it to shop A which I've used in the past. $800 2.- Shop swapped the output...

And we passed by Salt Lake City and found a place to camp before we head to Moab and the next morning the transmission start jumping. Limp to the next town and find a transmission shop. Of course, this is Friday afternoon. the transmission is destroyed. I had the transmission rebuilt and it...

Leaving Yellowstone through West, Montana, we visited The Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. Nice place to get some education and get some great shots of Wolfs and Grizzlys. Th vans were great to keep the young ones entertained. Gisela did a great job with her cousins. The lakes...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Great Tetons. To me, a nicer place than Yellowstone. I'm afraid Yellowstone is a victim of its own success. I do not mean to be pedantic, it's great that is accessible to so many people, hopefully, some will learn to love an appreciate nature there. Still, Great Teton is quite accessible...
