Have you talked to Garmin about your issues? I have experienced none of those problems with mine. Other than the lack of voice calling it is superior in every way to a satellite phone for me.
What would be awesome is if you could just option the engine. I can build the 90 I'd want with the P300 for $56k or up it to a P400 with pretty much identical configuration for $66k. If I could add just the V8 for another $10k I'd be way more likely to do it than going with the rest of the fancy...
Looks like you're right after checking the Ford website. I swear I had read it was 2000lbs but that's obviously wrong. It's better but my boat weighs about 3000lbs on the trailer ready to go so it would be a slim margin.
Haha. I really enjoy cooking at home but for some reason I've just never been one to get fancy when I'm out camping. Coming full circle back to the original intent of this thread though - a lot of that is probably because my super cheap and old green coleman basically has no flame control...
I think you are completely missing the point that people enjoy recreation in different ways. I have a boat with a motor and a kayak. Two different tools useful for different things. I have a motorcycle and a bicycle, two different tools for different things. Truck, ATV, feet, airplane, whatever...
I've used an ATV to cover what would've taken days to hike in a single day of riding and then hiked another couple days out beyond that to places you'd never get to on foot otherwise. Your opinion is not a fact.
I'll see your pleasant quiet solitude and raise you the pleasant quiet solitude of...
I have driven all those roads multiple times and not had a rock thrown into the windshield and chip/crack it. That usually happened in the spring before the paved roads were cleared off from six months of gravel. Take all the stories about the wild and rough roads and dial them down about 10...
This app is usually fairly accurate with dimensions, assuming you provide it the right scale measurement to start with. Not a F250 but I couldn't find a picture if a Project M on a 250 with a quick search.
Some of us like to take trips and do multiple things while on it. I've done it plenty of times with friends where someone tows the boat and someone tows the ATVs and we have a good week of fishing and hunting. I've also done it where we park the truck and walk for 50 miles with a backpack.
I have a deposit down on the Cybertruck and the R1T, when/if they ever make it into real production I'll decide between the two. With 400 mile range I think I'll be alright. There are plenty of times I've smashed my way across the country at 1200+ miles a day with just quick fuel and piss stops...
The thing about Alaska is that anywhere you can drive a Land Cruiser (or really any vehicle for that matter) really isn't that remote. Even if you broke down in Deadhorse you're still on the main highway system and can get a part from Fairbanks driven up in a day. Tows back down, although...
Chances are they will head in the exact same path as GFC. They both started as a small company making a quality product that a lot of people want. Demand is guaranteed to outpace their ability to expand production and delay times will continue to increase.
Surprised it took so long. I'm also surprised with how many people were willing to way over pay for the exact same baofeng they could get off Amazon for 20% cost.
If you're putting this on a second gen Tacoma this might be concerning. Looks like they designed the camper and tailgate hatch off the third gen which is quite different.
I can say the exact same stuff about my experiences with GFC. It will be interesting to see what happens with Super Pacific when the face the same dilemmas as GFC with growth and production capabilities.
The newer ones have the synthetic liner (similar to the field jacket liner material) which work really well to slip over your feet if they get cold in your sleeping bag. The mits are great if you can get by with lobster clawing everything but are best used with a warm/waterproof liner glove do...
At that point you really don't even have a bed anymore. The Decked takes up so much of the bed and putting a slide on top of that would only leave a few inches left underneath the cover.
