The Norra Mexican 1000 Off Road Race

I checked around and he was supposed to be there with Mike Coleman and John Cole in their Jeep Comanche (friends of ours) but his grandma passed away just before the race so he wasn't able to attend. Todd Z.

The Norra Mexican 1000 Off Road Race

Here are a few of my favorite shots of our entry for this year's race. Photo credits to Jeff Furrier and someone from RDC (probably Art Eugenio). Todd Z.

Diamond Creek Road to the bottom of the Grand Canyon

I'm pretty sure you're correct, Mikey. The bottom of that road is the only place I've ever seen a flash flood in person. Thankfully, it wasn't very large but it was amazing how quickly the water arrived and then subsided. Great photos, Mark! Todd Z.

The Norra Mexican 1000 Off Road Race

This was our third year participating in this event and again we had a great time! We finished third in class with no major issues. After a week in Baja, it's tough to come back to the real world. Todd Z.

    Burro Creek AZ for Easter

Years ago (mid '80s), I think we did such a connection but I don't remember how we hooked it all together. If I was to start looking, I'd look for a road that hooks into the road between Bagdad and the Yolo Ranch (continuation of the Camp Wood road)and comes in from the west just north of...

    Burro Creek AZ for Easter

Great photos, Mikey! And that county marker is really cool. Did you have an idea it was there or just stumble upon it? Todd Z.

    AEV 2.5" lift install

Check with Sierra Expeditions - I've seen a JK or two getting some AEV components installed there. Wil will likely know of someone who can handle it if they can't do it. Also, you might check with Jason Demento (sp?) at Airpark Jeep in Scottsdale. They're an AEV dealer. Todd Z.

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Without being familiar with the architecture of the vehicle, I assume this panel is something that is removable/replaceable with a piece that is laser cut elsewhere? From your description, I have visions of someone in the fenderwell trimming with their light saber :). Todd Z.

Trip Report - Old Iron Run II: February 16 - 18, 2013, KOFA Wildlife Reserve

I like the "old souls" idea and your FJ60 would certainly fit the bill. I can think of other examples from the '80s as well (Larry's beautiful blue Chevy truck comes to mind). In contrast, the 3 vehicles shown in NOIBN's "late arrivals" photo below are all old vehicles (40+ years old) with...

Trip Report - Old Iron Run II: February 16 - 18, 2013, KOFA Wildlife Reserve

Here's a link to an article on the cemetery: http://www.apcrp.org/KOFA/KOFA_CEM._MASTdoc.htm I'll try to post a few pics when I get a chance as well. I want to publicly thank a few folks that helped me this weekend. When Sam and I arrived at Palm Canyon, I smelled coolant and soon discovered...

Trip Report - Old Iron Run II: February 16 - 18, 2013, KOFA Wildlife Reserve

A great time was had by all! Mike and Melissa and Nick/Lance/Leland are still out there somewhere. The rest of us working stiffs came back this afternoon. Very beautiful, remote country. It's the first time I've ever been in this part of AZ and I'd like to go back. Plenty of photos and...

Trip Report - Old Iron Run II: February 16 - 18, 2013, KOFA Wildlife Reserve

Mikey: What type(s) of comms for this trip? And if we roll in around 8:30 a.m., is that too late? Or ok timewise? We can make it earlier. Lance/Nick - any idea on when you guys might be arriving? Todd Z.

Trip Report - Old Iron Run II: February 16 - 18, 2013, KOFA Wildlife Reserve

OK, thanks. I looked at a map last evening and I think I can find it. AZ69EB and I are still hoping to make it out for the weekend. Todd Z.

Trip Report - Old Iron Run II: February 16 - 18, 2013, KOFA Wildlife Reserve

It's looking a little more hopeful for me to attend - assuming everything comes together for vehicle re-assembly this week. I saw your original notation, Mikey, about the mileposts where we turn off I-10 and I see Lance's green arrow on the map. Is it pretty straightforward to get from the...
