Sure, just depends on the truck configuration ordered. I plan to add a receiver to this truck for the possibility of flat towing a vehicle on less adventurous trips (mostly hwy).

So far, they're smooth and only have a slight hum at highway speeds. I've been into the 4x4 scene for years now and have run oversized BFG MTs, Goodyear MT/Rs, Nitto Trail Grapplers, Toyo Open Country M/Ts, & Cooper STT Pros. All of these started pretty good and a couple turned ugly with miles...

For sure, the slides are weaker this way and I debated over the slide mounting quite a bit. I will probably rework the base design at some point down the road -hopefully years down the road lol. That's a good idea though and I could mount the slides vertically with teflon runners on the bottom...

It was tricky spraying certain areas of the truck for sure. For the area between the cab/box, I reached in as far as I could with sand paper and scuffed it. Almost the same approach with the spray gun, just held the gun as far in as I could and tilted back and forth. That section is not really...

Pretty specific questions. You'd be better off posting a new thread asking your questions over hijacking this one. Especially since my setup has nothing to do with liquid springs or keeping duallys.

We took the truck out for a couple nights in the desert and had an awesome time. While we were exploring for a campsite, I found myself navigating a jeep trail in the barge. Overall, the truck handled itself well considering the size and weight. The width makes it a little more challenging than...

A little over priced but comes with Moto...(not mine)

It has some good functionality in the build and I really like the mini wood stove. On the other hand, it's not a real polished build (stamps showing on pine boards) and lacks a toilet/shower. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but when did skoolies get so expensive? I remember when school bus...

DIY Truck Camper electrical power solution.

Shouldn't be too difficult to accomplish your electrical system goals. As Korey mentioned, you need to break down all of the items you're powering by the amp draw daily. Really consider how often you'll be using the devices to give you a baseline of not only battery need, but charging...

Thanks! That's the exact reason I didn't build a swing out tire carrier. Feel free to steal it! (y)

    One to many zeros......

The ad was deleted. Could you imagine if it actually sold for $75K?!

I really need to get the plumbing all fixed and finished... but MAN, I just keep finding other things to do! We needed a place to put clothes/personal items and now we each get a drawer. The top is a cubby/locker of sorts, with a hidden RFID lock. The drawer slides are all push-to-close and...

Here are some detailed pictures of the tire carrier. I couldn't find any examples when I was building this thing, so it was almost a trial to see if it would work. I used 2 heavy duty (ish) drawer slides as the base. These are still way too puny for the weight of the tire & carrier and may...

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2820584491593044/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined Here's one of those 2002 hotshots trucks for sale currently. This one seems like a great base, with the side entrance door and slightly bigger box (more interior room, less outer storage). Someone...

Ha, that's actually ridiculous. I'll make sure to bring the ADOT policy with me and hopefully won't have too much trouble. This truck is really starting to look & feel like a camper, which will hopefully make the inspection go smoother. Maybe they'll even qualify my fridge/freezer cooler as...

    2002 FORD F550 XL 4x4 Diesel 7.3L Hotshot Ambulance!

These hotshots vehicles are built tough! GLWS Not too hard for a basic pass though. Remove the truck cab rear window, cut a matching hole in the box and install a boot. My camper is a similar hotshot vehicle (crew carrier) and has the passthrough setup. It works well!

I'll be sure to ask when I get the inspection done. You only need 4 of 6 items listed, so it's reasonable to say a cassette toilet won't qualify and still easily be able to have four other qualifying modifications.

Awesome, congrats on the purchase! You'll be able to make a nice living space in a 16' box whereas my truck has a 9' box and it limits the interior options. You're welcome to come by to check out the truck. I've slowed down working on it recently, but still have it at the house every other...
