    Security camera system?

The ReoLink has pretty much what I was looking for! There are a few things to work through still as their cameras appear a little clunky so mounting may be tricky. Also the recorder looks like takes a 48 Vdc input, I'm working with 12 Vdc system. Thanks!

    Security camera system?

I guess I wasn't clear in that I'm wanting to mount the system to my vehicle and while I'm camping. I'll update the original post.

    Security camera system?

I can revisit those. After initial glance they don't seem to attach easily to a vehicle but I'll take a closer look if I can't come up with an integrated system.

    Security camera system?

Do they make a 12v version and have you heard of anyone putting them on a vehicle? I'll look into them a little more.

    2020 Conservation Films worth watching

I found these films to be informative and well done. They do try to reach back to when conservation and land use were more bi-partisan in nature. I for one would like for us to return to that less polarized way of seeing a balanced land use so we can focus on the responsible use of finite...

    Security camera system?

Looking for recommendations for a security camera system that is motion activated, takes great pics day and night, video and/or stills, and provides an adjustable audible alert. I would love to see what's moving around at night so I might grab a more legit camera, but would love to be able to...

Earthroamer - Living full time questions

The Earth Roamers are impressive for sure, but you also might check out the Earth Cruisers (FX if popup is not desired but there are advantages) possibly the Nimbl, though it's partially a popup. I happen to think the pros outway the cons and prefer popups..the softsides are usually well...

EarthCruiser EXP from a Sportsmobile Perspective

Great write up! We've been on the quest for the most ideal way to travel, especially with Covid situation factored in, and they all have their pros and cons. We've had old and newer airstreams, which were great but wanted to go deeper into the backcountry. Since we had a truck for towing we...

(Sold) 2019 Hallmark Milner For Sale

SOLD: I love this well engineered 2019 Hallmark Milner popup truck camper! Circumstances have changed and I need to find a good home for it. I had it built for solid three season and the occasional winter camping and photography adventures. Great for Backcountry camping. Pop top provides lower...

    Earth Cruiser -DEF

@dreadlocks I can see your point now regarding it wasn't DEF that killed the Fuso in North America. I agree there are several diesel related factors not just DEF that are making it more restrictive for manufacturers to operate in the US. I would still contend that driving a diesel without...

    Earth Cruiser -DEF

My previous point was that if you're trying to tread lightly and not smog up the place, defeating emission systems is both illegal and not very cool. I know a lot of people do it but if you're traveling in a way that's responsible and respectful of other countries and cultures polluting their...

    Pop-ups with inside showers?

As far as popups go, Hallmark makes a great camper while offering several floor plans, some with indoor showers. The roof is very sturdy and lifts mechanically so it can raise and lower a fair amount of weight, not that you'd ever want to over load it. I have the Milner (without the shower)...

    Earth Cruiser -DEF

My point is that DEF is not sold in many countries that people like to travel, so you do need to carry it with you or figure out how to get it along the way. Deleting a DEF system is problematic in many ways...definitely not a "tread lightly" mindset.

    Earth Cruiser -DEF

It's only a big deal when you don't have it. I have 2107 Duramax that we primarily use for towing a horse trailer. When not doing that, I have a slide in truck camper. If I wanted to take this setup internationally, I'd have to ensure I could replenish the DEF. DEF also has a relatively...

    Earth Cruiser -DEF

Moving away from diesel is the future, like it or not. Ford and Mercedes are doing this too. It just pollutes the air too much. It kind of sucks seeing trucks in ultra pristine locations pumping that black smoke in the air. Finding a used engine is great but hard to justify coupling that with...

Help with Lithium system - charging issues

You might double check how the DC to DC charger is wired with respect to the shunt. I have a similar set up but with a Sterling BB1230 b2b charger. Initially is was wired with the negative from the Sterling to the negative battery terminal and not to the shunt itself so I wasn't getting an...

    Polluting vehicle restrictions in Europe

When electric vehicles can be dialed in with even more efficient batteries and solar/wind power , then they'll be excellent for overlanding as fuel and maintenance will be minimized. Of course there will be several hurdles until that time comes...like water crossings and rainy seasons, but...

    EC FX vs. GXV Patagonia

Coincidentally, I subscribed to Overland Journal a few weeks ago and ordered the Spring 2020 back issue because of the expedition campers writeup. It arrived literally moments ago just as I had posted my previous response!!! Lots of terrific info so far...a good read for those in the market...

    EC FX vs. GXV Patagonia

I can't speak to the 4WD differences partially because it looks like GXV has a few chassis options. I do know first hand that the EC is more maneuverable than my stock 3500HD Duramax crew cab with truck camper. With the 2020 EC, you can manually control each axle. It's not 4wd all the time and...
