Picture of the back of the steering knuckle would be great. And if you happen to see a part number on the wheel bearing or it is in the paperwork somewhere would be great. The link above for Timken is a huge resource, LOTS of info in it. I'm sure I could cross reverence some numbers, but it...
And all that brings me back to where I started. Needing a resource that has some specs on all these bearings that I should be looking at. Could be a Dodge, could be GM, Could be older Ford. Timken has a monster website that this stuff doesn't show up on the search feature. I'm not about to...
Nope, Titan is 6-lug. NV is 8-lug. I see that Quigly and Advanced are doing it and keeping the 8-lug wheels.
Titan also uses a 3-bolt triangular bolt pattern holding the hub to the knuckle, NV is 4-bolt.
Yep, I have spent hours on that Timken website. I can't find the unit bearings on it. If you could show me where to find the unit bearing specs that would be great.
And I tried emailing them asking for help, never heard back from them either.
I'm trying to pencil together a 4WD conversion for a Nissan NV van. One of my stumbling blocks is the front wheel bearing. From what I can tell it is an off the shelf part, but I don't know what shelf. My attempts at searching parts catalogs for bearings isn't panning out. If all I wanted...
Pathfinder, not Xterra or Frontier. That is the part that got me.
The V8 pathfinder had the factory 7-pin connector, the V6 got the 4-pin.
It has been too long since I delt in that gen pathfinder and hitch wiring. But look at V8 pathfinder wiring for the correct plug, not the frontier/xterra...
There should not be any cutting of the factory harness, unless someone has already done so.
Not sure where that 8-cavity plug is from, it isn't factory. On the left frame rail between the bumper and the spring shackle you should find the 2 plugs for the trailer connection. 6-cavity plug with...
If you check with clubfrontier of thenewx forums they have the latest.
In short, the first batch were bad and went boom. But after that they got them working pretty good.
While I own a 2nd gen Xterra, and know the 1st gen fairly well. I think the R50 pathfinder is a better vehicle for your budget. Do it right and you can get the VQ35 and get some power and economy that the 3.3 can't offer.
Budget can be anywhere you want it. Buy a cheap camper or motorhome and take all the parts out is one of the cheapest ways to get the parts.
OR buy everything new and top of the line and spend more then buying a new motorhome from a dealer.
And so many of the variables depends on what you want...
I know many a 90's trucks that had that kind of power. Including ¾ and 1 tons.
Not going to pull 10,000 pounds effortlessly up a mountain at 70MPH. But they will get around fine
The 3.5 was a mid year change. Exhaust straight out the back instead of turning out the side is a quick way to tell.
Also look at the sister version, the QX4. Don't think that has a stick option nor manual transfer case.
Front hubs from a 1st gen Frontier or Xterra (stock or aftermarket) can...
It's a miniature version of a Titan, with a V6. For the hard core wheeler the Titan suspension can be bolted on up front to give a wide track, long arm suspension, or a small body Titan. Lots of parts are the same or nearly so. The off-road/Pro4x models have the same basic rear axle as the...
Don't worry about the rear axle. It isn't perfectly straight, none of them are. In theory they would be perfect, reality is they are not. You will get camber change on the rear axel as you put a load in the van as well. the axle housing does flex ever so slightly. There is more than enough...
