:wings: '08 Trail Teams here thats coming up on its 2nd birthday in Feb. Corey's rig has been one of my insparations on the mods that I have made. So far I have installed a Aluminess frt.bumper, full set of Ricochet skid plates, installed a dirty parts dual battery, Impac side and rear...
There is a member on here Ace Brown I think is his username, he has a escape (canadian made all fiberglass trailer) that has a lift on it, looks nice. Maybe he can give some comments on it, I will pm him about this thread. He travels all around the usa with it so he should have some useful...
I have looked @ the Little Guy line, and they are ok for the money but not great IMO. The dealer in my area never got one of the rough-riders in and now is no longer in buisness either so to be fair I never looked @ the RR model but there was no big differances between the models on the inside...
No amout of bling will ever make me look good, but when you work @ a bike shop its hard not to buy all the candy lol
Never used the locking grips, but it does make sense it would kinda be like handlebar wieghts like they use on motorcycles
The up side of moisture on the trails is the traction...
No worrys, don't want to get into a Pxxxing match about carbon fiber. I didn't bolt on a carbon fiber bar for it's bling factor, but out of frustration due to after ride aches and pain I was having. Since I worked @ a shop @ the time the bars didn't cost much and seemed like it would be worth a...
Looks like you have it tied down pretty well, you definetly don't want it flying around inside your vehicle if by chance you are involed in a wreck or turn it upside down. Beauty of the new ARB fridge is that the handles are alot more stout than the old ones and you can cinched down on them...
Didn't know about carbon myth #512, but I replaced a Easton aluminum riser bar with a Easton carbon riser bar with about the same rise, sweep and width and the differance was amazing for me, maybe it was the placebo effect or something.
Great to see the pics of Combs Ridge, haven't been there in a couple of years will be spending a day or so there on my way down to the overlandexpo, can't wait for April! :wings:
No way your are going to be able to get a new AT Horizon for under 10k, A well equipted Chaser is 10k +, maybe a used one would be closer to the 10k price point. Comparing the AT to a Pacmule is apple vs oranges kind of thing, both are good but different. The AT is a purpose built offroad...
Corey good choice going with the Oakleys IMO, they have always given me good performance over the last 20 years. Cheap sunglasses give me headaches. Alot of people overlook eye protection, as far as I know they can replace most body parts but the eye is not one of them.
:bike_rider: I have been riding Mountainbikes since the mid 80's and have seen alot of bikes come and go. All materials have good/bad points like durability, wieght, rigidity, cost etc. Finding the right bike when you have no mt. bike experiance is not a easy thing to do, ask 10 different people...
:victory: well I pulled the trigger and got the wiggys, they do offer 40% off the list price for walk-ins & military so that made them a good deal IMO, being locally made didn't hurt either.
FJ Cruisers only come with vinyl floors, easy to keep clean I would think carpeting would be a negative in a expo rig. I could always install carpeted floor mats in my FJ if I feel the need for carpeting! another option is to use bedlining, I had that done to a 4x4 van I once had and it worked...
I have a FJ Cruiser and I have removed the rear seats and custom fabbed
a aluminum rack that is bolted down to the seat mounts and the rear tie down points and the fridge/slide is bolted to the rack It is very solid and lightwieght. I guess the hard part of mounting a fridge/slider is finding a...
I bought the new ARB fridge and got the complete package of Bag, slider and tie down straps last spring. I have runned it with the TB on it since day 1 so I can't vouch for its ability to keep fridge cooler (although It couldn't hurt) but it helps in the protection of fridge for sure. The pain...
Due to a change in my camping rig, going from a teardrop trailer to a RTT, I'am having to downsize my kitchen set-up. I have to get most everything in a 15"w x 22"l x 18" h box. Items replaced so far:
Camp chef 2 burner stove with a 2 burner partner steel Stove
large size folding aluminun...
I'am also looking for a double bag for our new RTT and have come across a local manufacturer of bags here in Grand Junction, Co. Wiggys is the name of the company. I want one light wieght bag and one that will go down to about zero to zip together,They recommend the Nautilus (light 40 degree) &...
I kinda figured that would be the issues. Agree about the warranty/spare parts support, I use to work in the powersport industry and had to deal with the made in china scooters & atv's and finding spare parts was a constant nightmare, the companys that sold the junk go out of buisness as fast as...
