The I want to check out a ?????? in ?????? master thread

OK there are a lot of people wanting to either start their touring/exploring/dual sport/expedition type riding and would like to be able to check out the various types of bikes without the pressure of sales agents/owners or large groups. Then there are a number of us that have bikes to check out...

    Wild rose ambulance

Most of these have a master isolator and a box isolator. When you leave it sit disconnect the master and there will be minimal to no drain. I also isolate the box when I am just running around. (I have setup the fridge to work from the front/cab power). Saves me having to stop and turn lights...

So how long before we hear the announcement that you had a good look over the sportsmobile top and have a prototype to put on ambulance boxes.

    Hopi Ambulance Build

Those shock mounts look very similar to the Advanced 4WD rig I had. It handled OK but was a very rough ride and not much up travel on the front (1 1/2 to 2 inches only)

Looking for an article on the KLR 650 for S. Americal travel

I do not know about the article you are looking for but the belief that you will get parts for KLR in 3rd world countries is a bit off the mark. I had a 2008 in Chile and Argentina. None of the Kawasaki dealers kept parts for it. These are very expensive bikes in those countries and there are...

    Hopi Ambulance Build

Ford have a manifold that replaces the taps. Not sure of the part number but my AC tech was onto it before I realized the error of my ways and left the rear AC in place. In AZ it is nice to turn up to the camping area with a pre cooled box. And have a look at the heat load 2 humans and 3 dogs...

03 Ford 4x4 Diesel Ambulance for sale

P1148 alt code. Mine used to throw that code regularly. Replaced a faulty AC compressor and never had it since. Only concern with the AC blowing hot air is the amount of gas it takes. 64 oz from memory. AC probably suffered from a lack of use. Best of luck with the negotiations.

03 Ford 4x4 Diesel Ambulance for sale

Only if you get caught and probably only illegal in Canada, USA and Chile. Besides it is not an ambulance siren sir, it is the siren for my alarm system :sombrero: I do agree with ctdhiker though in part. While ambulances tend to be well maintained they are driven hard. You can be sure they...

03 Ford 4x4 Diesel Ambulance for sale

Leave the roof lights there. Maybe a perforated wrap over the red ones to hide them a bit while still allowing them to be used as area lighting. Leave the white ones alone as they are great for setting up camp etc. also leave the siren there. I am sure the further south you get the more they use...

03 Ford 4x4 Diesel Ambulance for sale

The 6.0 while not as desirable in my opinion is still a great motor. Check Chris's site http://www.ujointoffroad.com/ for some info on making them more reliable. Bullet Proof diesel also has a lot of info. You can still get all the diagnostic tests done as I pointed out in the previous post...

Project Side by Side - 3 CJ750's from Shanghai to Paris

Interesting, thanks for the link. We are considering (dreaming early planning stage) doing China and Mongolia by sidecar using a local supplier to source the sidecars. http://www.bmwsidecar.com/ was the supplier we were thinking of but it is nice to know there is a tour group that may offer...

03 Ford 4x4 Diesel Ambulance for sale

If it is an 03 it should be a 7.3 in which case even with 250,000KM (158,000miles approx) it is a bargain. There are a couple of extra checks you can get done along with normal pre-purchase inspection. Get hold of the maintenance records if you can. As mentioned previously get the hour meter...

    2003 E350 4x4 Diesel Ambulance for sale

That is a bargain if it is a 7.3. Just get someone to run the diagnostics on the engine. You will need to get a code reader that pulls more than the normal ODB11 codes (ford reader or Autoenginuity) they can read all the codes and also run the diagnostics on the engine including cylinder...

Hmm can I pull a TW200 apart enough to fit in a Prius

Actually a rental was the intelligent choice (cowardly choice). If I tried this with the missus's car I would be hung drawn and quarter and have my husband benefits cut off for at least a year. All oils etc drained. One fuel tank had never had fuel and the other we drained, flushed multiple...

Hmm can I pull a TW200 apart enough to fit in a Prius

Ok the answer is YES. We removed the forks, plastics and rear subframe. It would of fit with all the plastic and subframe but they are NOS 2012 ones I didn't want to scratch up. Now to get it running and build a fold up sidecar.

Hmm can I pull a TW200 apart enough to fit in a Prius

Stage 1 get the CT90 in to take to LA OK I didn't get a Prius but ended up with a CMax (Ford Hybrid) instead. And the Honda does fit without even taking the wheels off.
