Nice looking OBS! There is a great community of us on here so feel free to ask if you need any advice. I just upgraded my headlights and it made a world of difference, it s so nice o be able to see at night now!
The Retrofit Source carries all of the above.

They are not cheap, however unlike LED light bars they can be used on the street legally without blinding oncoming traffic.
Thanks for the compliments guys. It was good to hang out and chat on Saturday Gabe! I don't have any good daytime pictures of the headlights yet. I keep forgetting and it gets dark so early around here now that I would pretty much have to take them on lunch or it is dark! Here are a few I...
Usually factory wheels do not have the recesses between the lug holes, but the aftermarket 16.5 wheels I had did. You are 100% correct that .5" is too thin otherwise. As it is I took the 8x170 wheels back and got a refund. I will keep my eyes open fo another set in the correct patter so I can...
I was seriously contemplating that, but the thinnest adapters I could find were 1.5" and with the wheels having more offset as well it would have been a ridiculous amount of tire outside the fenders. If I had a cnc mill I would have made some .5" adapters out of steel that would have been ok.
Here are some before and after shots. It is difficult to capture the true output of headlights on a camera but the improvement is significant
Old lights low beams only
New lights low beams, this picture was before I re-aimed the lights up so it is a bit low
Old high beams plus 9" HID...
I spent the last few days working on the headlights and got them buttoned up and installed tonight. The process is not very hard but it is time consuming and takes a good measure of patients. I think the results are definitely worth it though as being able to see up here in the great white north...
I just got a pair of X2s in group 65 for my F250. They were $259 each with 2 $10 off coupons so $570 for two after tax. They totally transformed the way my truck starts compared to the lead acids that were in there before. Rated a 930CCA each they both tested at 996CCA and it shows. They not...
So far so good with the starter. It has made cold starts much faster than the previous hot starts. If it fails I still have the old one I can throw in in a pinch. I had a bit of a fiasco trying to get the new tires on this weekend. I bought some extra wheels to put the new tires on, I picked...
I agree underdrive, the factory low beams are barely parking lights! More on my solution to that at the bottom.
I got several things done last night. The starter and backup light showed up so I tackled them after work. I started with the light since it seemed simple enough. I wanted to do it...
Got some updates. We are heading back to Colorado for Christmas and the truck is going to be our means of transport, so some maintenance/upgrades were in order. First was tires as the set I order last year is on its last leg. I got a set of the 90% ones the first time and they were pretty hard...
Hey man, just checking in to see what your thoughts are on the BFGs you have been running on your truck. I need another set and I am torn between the MTRs and the Baja TAs. The 90% tread MTRs I got are worn out now and I had two get splits in the inside sidewalls after all the abuse I put them...
That Firestone airbag looks interesting. It has lots of travel with a collapsed height of 7" and extended of 23". I wonder how well it would hold up to the constant cycling it would get when wheeling. I would use a 2" or 2.5" bodied remote reservoir shock with those to make sure you have plenty...
Your SD looks good man. I have never looked into air bags for long travel. Do they make some with enough stroke to get good articulation? It would be nice to be able to vary the spring rate and ride hight at any point in time.
Why yes it is! I do everything with this beast including drive it every day. That is a big reason I have made all the more specialized parts of the truck removable if need be. Depending on what I am doing I can remove the bed rack and tire carrier to make it a little more utilitarian. There was...
Just keep in mind the 7.3 is close to 1000 lbs and most smaller suv or trucks wont do well with that much heft over the front axle. It is best to find something that can be beefed up to accommodate the sheer enormity of a full size diesel drivetrain. An obs or eb bronco would be great choices.
