Silnylon vehicle awning ideas for a lightweight compact flexible design

Looking good. Check out this site for lots of cool parts and the best DIY sewing videos I have found. http://www.sailrite.com Try some of their seam basting tape to hold your folded edges in place as you stitch. http://www.sailrite.com/Seamstick-3-8-for-Canvas-60-Yds#

The Volvo controllers are great and can be rewired to use with almost any fan! They have built in on of and hi low speed as well.

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

LOL! I love that your idea of a somewhat mild build includes fully linked and coilovers. That is my kind of perspective! I look forward to watching your build and seeing the truck take shape. As far as spring rates go in the front I found very little info out there for us diesel guys. I ended up...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Thank you very much! I have taken my truck places most people thought it would never fit, but mine being a short bed does help a lot. I would love to see pictures of your truck as there are very few OBS fords that are linked for actual off road use and not just to look like a monster truck. I...

Awesome trip man! I am trying to plan a Moab trip next year with the family. I would love to put the old Ford to good use on some trails and not always worry about squeezing between trees all the time! I will probably need at least a rear locker though to be able to crawl and not have to bounce...

    Liberty, My 97 F250 CCSB

Looking good! Bad alignment sounds like a great excuse to put in a D60 to me! You can do a free tape measure alignment to get your toe correct in about 10 min. If you need one I can make a quick video and post it on youtube if you are not sure how to do one.

    '95 F350 CCLB 7.3 4x4 aka Clifford

Probably lift pump or low oil level. Your injectors are fired off oil pressure from your HPOP and if the oil level is low it wont fire the injectors properly.

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

It is unanimous! The worst thing in the world is a beat down leaf sprung D50 TTB! I feel like we should get a Nobel Peace Prize or something for that. I have been trying to decide what the next thing I need to save for is. I want air lockers, bumper/winch and sliders, or a SPOD with full 12v...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Thanks for the kind words! There are few things worse than a worn out TTB leaf sprung front end! Mine had less than one inch of up travel when I removed it and the bushings were so shot they were metal on metal.

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Thanks man. I will build a front bumper at some point. I need a winch as well so I will probably pick one of those up then build the bumper around it. I'm not sure what I want to do first, a bumper, sliders, or my 12v power project. The power would be most helpful for camping so that will...

Pics of rig packed up ready to go?

Here was our load out for the maiden voyage with the RTT. I need some better bins for our sleeping stuff and gear bags. I also am toying with the idea of a truck bed tool box to replace my action packer with tools and recovery gear

We got a chance to explore some forest service roads around Darrington. There are some pretty good ones in the area and we found a good shooting pit at the end of one. I want to explore all the ones that are not washed out or closed over the summer. Kids having a good time We found a cool...

Take lots of pictures in Moab! I am looking to do a trip there next year after lockers and a winch, who knows maybe even a rear three link!

The Frankenstein Build: 1996 Tacoma Long Travel/Expo/Trail Rig

Great build and lots of adventures. I have driven through Wyoming dozens of times as I am originally from Colorado and moved to Washington when I was 7. Every summer we would drive back to see family and every now and again stop in Casper to see some cousins there. I loved seeing your pictures...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

Good to know about the EGTs. My primary reason is not having to deal with th large diameter pipe going over the axle and limiting the available flex when I 3 link it. Guys like me do a lot of things that reduce the life expectancy of our tires. Extra heat on one tire is not half as destructive...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

I think the OP may be referring to the Ford Lightnings. Both the OBS and later models were dual tip passenger side exit just before the rear tires. They are gas though and probably not as hot as a turbo diesel, especially one that is towing up a grade. I have debated dumping my exhaust out the...

I wouldn't worry about your bedsides flexing out at all. Your rack is stronger than your bed and if anything will keep them from bowing not causing it. That is more a problem for guys running Thule and Yakima racks that are not a structural member like your rack is. I bet it doesn't even know...
