Are you getting the 3500 master cylinder?
I'll be interested to hear how the volume is relative to the 2500. I am concerned that once I have both front and rear GM calipers I'll need higher volume MC.
Thanks for that consideration of larger wheels inherently being wider. Trading clearance for rim width is a wash anyway.
Nice to hear about the Fox setup!
Just hope I can get back to the project when the snow melts.
And even larger wheels? 18" 20"?
Is there a point with this theorization where steering radius will decrease due to striking other obstacles?
I am still planning on sticking with same diameter and width as 245 75r16 regardless.
If these are the same as OEM, they are the same as what I emailed you about from the junkyard back in August when I got my set. Measured backspacing is 5".
Yikes, never use brake cleaner on parts you are going to weld. Brake cleaner heated makes phosgene gas, very hazardous Even deadly and there is not effective cure if poisoned.

Acetone is fine
I installed the tranny and T-case. By moving the fuel lines out of the way, my cross brace has only 3" drop, and only 2 degrees difference in T-case output axis and pinion. And less twist on the motor mounts I am sure. I think I remember you said 4.5" drop and 4 degrees?
I have not had the...
Some compromises can be worth it. No way I am going to mess with actuator on this manual shifted Tcase. Sometimes simple is good. We all pick our own poisons though.
Me, in a few moments I am going to lift one to the project and to you Jonathan! Thank you for being an enabler so to speak! ...
WOW! Many things in my life have been going quite poorly lately. Today I am a happy man. I finished the setup on this diff:
Spec:
Pinion Preload New: 15 to 22 in-lbs
Pinion Preload Reused: 7 to 9 in-lbs
My final preload 10-12in lbs
Spec:
Ring Gear Backlash: .006" to .010"
My...
Cranked preload, got it to 8-10 in-lb. As it is reused I am going to leave it there.
I think I am set with the innards. Now to the tone ring assembly. I got one quote on the DOM tubing at ~$30 long enough to check in a lathe and my local machinist says around $40 to square, part and finish 2...
So back on topic:
Looks like I am heading back to doing the deed with the 9.5"
What I found looking for 10.5s: for the sure thing full meal deal with sensors, means 2009-2010 model year. These are going on average for $1000-1500 on the used market with one available locally at $895. This is...
I tend to agree about 10.5 probably being more HD and a potential sweet spot, but price does matter, and right now there's nothing available in reasonable shape for less than $550 with a G80. And there's no telling whether I'd have to reset pinion and backlash on them as well until I see them...
