In camp that night I looked off down this meadow and saw this guy feeding along the edge of the meadow. Scoped it with the binocular's and figured if I moved down in the aspens he might keep coming and I'd be able to get close for some pics. Had to wait on him for about an hour to keep working...
Thanks. I know I like to read others reports so figured I'd post up as well.
I've got a URAL Gear Up just haven't had the chance to put Petey in it yet. No doubt he'll be a major babe magnet cruising around in that thing. BeemerChef and Spirit have been on the road for years and he has...
After a great layover in Crested Butte I decided it was time to move on. I left Crested Butte late one afternoon and headed towards Tin Cupp Pass. Weather was really turning bad and like an idiot I screwed around and didn't find a stealth campsite before dark....again. I was on some back road...
Rode back into Crested Butte that evening and ran into BeemerChef and his dog Spirit. I had been reading his posts on ADVRider and here for years and when I saw Spirit sitting in the sidecar out front of the burrito joint had to do a U-turn and get a picture. Talked for awhile about motorcycle...
Wish more people would adopt or rescue. So many animals out there they need a good home.
Yea, he's a funny looking thing but according to the paperwork provided he's a purebred. I could of cared less about his paperwork and told the people I got him from I didn't even want it. First thing I...
Besides the epic camping, riding and scenery in the Silverton area they have a really nice museum in town. Use to be the old jailhouse and it's got a lot of history. Well worth a visit.
Usually ended up downtown after riding each afternoon for a cold one.
Ran across this guy while...
Thanks
I miss old Hank daily but being an avid dog lover I just couldn't go long without another one. I told myself when I put Hank down that I'd never get another one. Losing them just about kills me but then I realize how much joy they bring into your life. I succumbed and ended up...
Hung out in Telluride for 3 days. Got caught up on some things and did some riding each afternoon. Of course had to head downtown in the evenings for a cold one.
Riding out of Telluride.
From Telluride decided to head over towards Silverton, Colorado as I was getting tired of the...
Yea it was way out and I was surprised he was even out there. Must have been a little bored so he thought he'd check it out. He said there were no camping signs but I honestly didn't see any when I pulled in. Next morning in the light I did note them so I guess technically I was breaking the...
Decided while in Durango to head back to the west to check out Mesa Verde National Park and then north from there up towards a little town called Rico. Guy had told me about some back roads getting there. Looked at camping in Mesa Verde but it was expensive so I decided to view the park and...
From the La Sal area I headed east towards Durango, Co. It was starting to get a little warm down low and I was seeking some higher terrain with some cooler temps. Explored some side roads and did some stealth camping en-route.
Rolled into Durango after a couple of days and of course a...
Went for a couple of rides while hanging out at Three Step. Of course, Moab has some great riding but it's the out of the way places like this that don't see a lot of use. I didn't see one other biker or quad while out riding. Needless to say, Scott who is an avid dualsporter, has the...
He will be missed. I was self-employed and he was with me just about 24/7. You sure do get attached to them and hate to lose them but just have to remember the good times. He had a great life.
After the week in Moab with my friend Kurt I was back to solo travelling and wanted to lay up...
Nice report and write up. Shame you didn't take the time to drive up to the Salmon Glacier outside of Hyder. Was just up there on my bike this summer and it's a must do.
Plus, the bear viewing outside of Hyder isn't too shabby either.
Some more camping and riding in the Needles District outside of Moab.
Trying to outrun a big storm getting back to our campsite.
My friend Kurt had driven his Jeep down with his bike on the back to Moab. Was nice having it as we were camped in some really nice spots with the comfort...
Thanks.
Update: Since starting this report I've lost my old buddy Hank. I had to have him put down while I was passing through Oregon. He had been my constant companion for 14 years and I'll always miss him. I've since acquired a new traveling companion and I'll try and post some pics of him...
