I have camped numerous times with gas in both an aev and a titan tank and I have never noticed it. More importantly wife has never complained about it and she can smell the exhaust fumes from a 737 30000' up ;-)
I currently have a Koolatron P20 Compact 12V Cooler that has served me well but is on its last legs. I have found a couple of websites that talk about essentially making the same thing with a generic container.
I have a rampage trail can (storage jerry can) that I want to try and make work...
So wanted to provide some info. I realized there are two different companies: Long Range Automotive (LRA) and Long Ranger (ARB branded).
Long Range Automotive is based in suburban Melbourne, while Long Ranger is located near Sydney. Long Ranger fuel and water tanks are manufactured by Out...
That was my thought as well which is why I was wondering if anyone had used them.Would be nice if you could use water (says okay for non potable). Also curious what they did to make it strong enough to drive on it? Is it stronger than rotopax?
No definitely wasn't them. I think the company may have shifted to just trailers as I found a gtr in south Africa (same city as I remember the other place being based).

Has anyone seen or tried one of these? Not sure how I feel about it. I like the idea and would be perfect for me as I don't do hard...
Just to follow up I couldn't find the camper made in africa that I was talking about. Company was called gtr or gtz or something like that, must have went out of business
My understanding is these guys will make their pulse fit most jeeps: http://phoenixpopup.com/phoenix-pulse-pop-top-jeep-article/
Before Ursa Minor came out there was a place that had a LJ camper that flipped open like a wilderness camper. It was made in Africa which is why I didn't pursue it...
I have the same B pillar noise with my J30. I read on a Jeep forum somewhere that it is the door flexing in relation to the top. Post said they had normal hardtop and when they took the doors off noise went away. I was happy with that explanation so I just accepted without any experimenting....
I have an older one so front bolt attachment may have changed. I had a squeek going over large bumps as top shifted. I stuffed foam (like the kind used for sealing around a window ac) between the rollbar and the top and squeak went away.
I am aware of added weight. For me it is mostly convenience and time savings as I hate frequent stops for gas. Added benefit is less concerns while out exploring and eventually I will move back to Florida and would use it during hurricane season if forced to evacuate or shortages.
So I reached out to lra, what I got back is " Cost of the 68 L aux tan is $1720.00 AUD - qty buy would be 5 for 15% discount - we can ship to the port of San Diego. Shipping cost would depend on qty for packaging - 1 tank would be $420.00 AUD. Pricing does not include import duties or taxes...
Having a J30 since early 2012 I have worked with John quite a bit and have been to his shop several times. What I found is email is a challenge, looking over his shoulder as he pulled up my email I could see he has tons of just inquires that he has to answer daily + sift through owner emails...
