I’m gonna recommend a different route, a power wagon with a pop up in bed camper or an aev prospector with the cummins. A truck with a solid front axle and some suspension upgrades can’t be beat, espically one with lockers.
I run a 3500 ram with Aisin trans and the cummins, I love it on long...
It's not cheap if it's out of warranty. The place I work has a fleet of ford only vehicles due to them being cheap on bid process. Overall we have had allot of problems with the explorer and it's internal water pump. The gas trucks have been flawless, diesel trucks have had egr issues and...
Much better trac bar. When I had a 2500 I ran rear air bags which helped when towing, I only had to run about 15 psi to get stability. Ram really did a great job with the 2500 rear coil suspension.
I have a carli backcountry 3 inch kit, with rear carli mini packs. The trucks sits dead level, but when I town and haul I do get some sag, I have to pump up my rear air bags. I can say the truck did loose some payload, however the ride and handling has improve by 100%. I pull a 10k trailer often...
Nitto, Toyo, falken and now general are all great tire options, bfg would not even be a choice for me. I have had great luck towing/hauling with Toyo and nitto. Last year I pulled a 10k trailer through a field in the winter that froze then unfroze as the day went on. At the time I was running...
Carli stuff is engineered to maintain proper geometry and is very well built. Carli will get you the best ride out of the three, they make a great 1/2 kit.
I don't have the AEV kit, I've heard to many horror stories about trac bar failures and bushing problems. I run 37's with aev rims, there is a slight rub at full lock, I cut about an inch of plastic off the fender with a dremel tool. I like the aev kit allot since it moves the axle forward, I...
It’s great Ford is doing this, however they will release it and they will get tons of credit even though another manufachas been doing it for years. Ford might have better numbers, I’m sure the 10 speed auto helps. Ford typically has a way to over inflate their numbers, for example my 2018 f150...
You'll be fine with a light trailer just get some rear air bags or order one with rear air suspension. I personally would get a 2500, solid front axle, will tow and handle better towing and have higher resale.
