    Finally Have My New Rubicon!

Ah, I hadn't been able to find a description of that pipe until now, I didn't realize that it actually relocated the exhaust behind the skid. Hmm, wasn't planning to spend the money on exhaust but that's probably the right solution. That may interfere with my bumper budget. Haha

    Finally Have My New Rubicon!

I meant to take more pictures as we went through the install but it got overlooked. The instructions were less than impressive, rather vague in many areas which caused a bit of frustration but all in all it was okay. If I installed another lift it would take significantly less time...

    Finally Have My New Rubicon!

After a long three weeks at work I finally made it home Thursday night and got to work on the AEV 3.5" lift...

Was the spring compressor required? The instructions say that they should slide over the spring seat and drop into place. I should be home and installing mine on Friday and would like to avoid extra trips to the auto parts store!

    Wrangler Record Sales May 2012-!

I didn't sign up for that because I think there is a "waiting period" after joining, but that shouldn't be an issue for you. Make sure you check it out and sign up soon if it is going to benefit you. I paid a few hundred over invoice for my 2012 in may. The dealer tried to locate something...

Main Line Overland JK Build Thread

Here was AEV's response to my inquiry about the steering damper. "The reason your kit has the stabilizer is because that particular part was in stock at the time of purchase. *The real fact is that you may be happier with the OME unit because the Bilstein sometimes causes a slight pull to the...

Main Line Overland JK Build Thread

I've got the same boxes sitting at home but I'm 2500 miles away for another week. Did your lift come with the bilstein steering damper or OME damper? Mine came with OME, I thought they weren't using then any more, and their pictures and descriptions show bilstein.

    255/85R-16E Toyo M-55's

What specifically drives you to this tire? The km2 is available in the same size for less money, or in a 33x10.50r15 for less money and it's 7lbs lighter per tire, and with a lower (more appropriate) load rating. My dad ran that size m55 on his 1 ton work van, they are overkill for a light...

    Improving the JK fuel efficiency?

I wouldn't be surprised. The first tank on my 12 rubicon six speed was 19 mpg calculated, with a good amount of in town driving.

    255/85R16 Fitment Jeep TJ

I was thinking the same thing, just run a 33x10.50 on a 15" wheel. It should cost less and ride much better.

Anyone Chop a flippac? Fiberglassers welcome

A couple things I wonder from looking at that.... If you cut the back end flush with the tailgate, is the flip over bed going to be at least six feet, or will you end up with a short bed? Obviously you're looking at reworking the tent. Possibly a full tent redesign if the tent poles need to be...

Jeep with rear seat large enough for adults

The Wrangler unlimited isn't too bad. I'm 6' and I can set up me seat up front, and still be fairly comfortable in the seat behind it. I don't see it being an issue for four adults to make a trip, but five is pushing it. The middle seat is kind of a cruel joke, with no real support...

    Finally Have My New Rubicon!

The AEV procal isn't so much of a programmer, more of a recalibrating tool. It allows you to recalibrate for tire size and ring/pinion changes, set the TPMS criteria, etc. That works okay for me though, I'm not sure I want to run a custom tune on a brand new engine anyway. I do need to figure...

    tie down recommendations.

I used torklift frame mounted tie downs and fast guns and really liked the setup. Everything was good and solid, no drilling, no mounting to bumpers, etc. I would definitely recommend them.

    Finally Have My New Rubicon!

I'll have to check that out, last I heard nobody was programming the 2012 yet. A local shop said that unichip had a customer's 2012 for a bit, but they were still testing.

    Jeep Wrangler Habitat Official Release

Thanks John. The more I though about it, the more a foam pad made more sense for carrying a boat on the habitat. I actually got behind an element with one of your tops last weekend and I was REALLY tempted to wave him down and check it out in person, but had an appointment. I may have to...

    Finally Have My New Rubicon!

Haha, no offense taken whatsoever. ;) That's good to hear that the 37s are working okay. I sometimes just have bad luck and didn't want to stack the odds against myself yet. I'll definitely give me thoughts about te AEV lift, though it will be three weeks until I'm back home again. I...
