    Jeep Wrangler Habitat Official Release

Maybe I missed it, but what is the pricing like on this thing? The website says that a price list is available for download, but either it doesn't exist or the link doesn't work. I've been planning to have a pop-up camper built for my F150, but I just looked at a new Rubicon Unlimited and it...

    06' f150 Overland project...

Having an 06 f150 myself, I could think of a lot of suggestions... ;) I would stay away from leveling kits, and just get a decent suspension lift if you think of heading that direction. If you just want to step up tire size, 285s are usually a good fit on a stock truck and shouldn't effect...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

But those are so far aft of the center of gravity! ;) I kind of like the rotopax mounts from what I've seen. Minimal weight by themselves and they don't protrude much, so they wouldn't interfere as much with mounting a bike or something. I know you've spent a lot of time planning things out...

What's the coldest you've used a FWC w/ arctic pack or similar?

I was thinking the same thing. I've seen plenty of FWC pictures and the frame has a ton of aluminum with very little space for insulation to fit in. The few small pieces of insulation that fit into the frame really aren't doing a whole lot in that situation. Then the whole bottom side is just...

    4WD PU buying advice

I dont know how dodge engines drive or how the transmissions are geared, but generally speaking I would go with the lower gears myself (4.10 in that case). Being geared too high is going to cost you more fuel if you're carrying a load, since your foot will be in the throttle more and the...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

You know it's funny, part of the appeal of the hard side camper that I owned was the storage area. When I sold it last week, I was amazed how much extra junk I had stuffed in the cupboards and not touched in the last year. Now I'm drawing up plans for a smaller pop-up, with more emphasis on...

    Fuel MPG

Obviously to really get an accurate comparison, you'll need to find someone who has hauled a hard side and pop-up on the same truck, same driving style, etc. I do believe that the wind resistance plays a much larger part than weight as well. If both a hard side and pop-up camper are equal...

Sorry I forgot to update, the rack is long gone.

    4WD PU buying advice

That may be a true point regarding mileage. I don't know what sort of mileage anyone is getting with the ecoboost, especially when the truck is always carrying a load. One of the big reasons I chose the f150 initially was because I wanted a full crew cab while keeping a short wheel base. The...

    My Westfalia Syncro!

Oh man that is terrible! I owned an 86 syncro for a little over a year and it was a blast, created many memories in that short time. When I sold it, it was the only time I actually cried after selling a vehicle. I was just too broke to give it the attention that it needed.

    4WD PU buying advice

I just sold my hard side and plan on buying a 6' pop-up to ride on my f150 full time. My f150 is a crew cab 5.5' bed, 06 with only the 7200 gvwr. Personally I think you will be fine with that truck and camper, though I would advise the 6.5' bed and whatever payload package you can come up...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

I think convection will clean out the air in a hurry when it's that cold, but it is nice to be able to run the fan for a couple seconds anyhow.

    My New Truck Camper

I'm actually selling my camper, but it's really because my needs have changed. I moved across the country back to Oregon, where I like to spend a lot of time out in the mountains/forest etc. I bought a house that has a small unlevel driveway with no place to store the camper. I've been paying...

What's new at Coyote RV/Phoenix Pop up?

Thanks for the response. I do have a couple of drawings put together and a pretty good idea of how I want it setup. A lot of it is in my head, with a few sketches on paper. At some point I'll get it all on paper and email you to figure out what we can come up with, and hear your feedback. I...

What's new at Coyote RV/Phoenix Pop up?

Rob and Cari, I would love to see/hear some more details of your camper construction. I'm selling my hard side camper in two weeks and strongly considering ordering a custom camper from you, but would love to see what is under the skin. I know some posts back there was mention of tubular...

How do soft sided popup truck campers handle weather conditions?

All I can say is avoid palomino. Even the brand new ones flap and leak in a mild breeze.

FWC Showing Campers in Portland, Oregon this week ...

Unfortunately I am working in Louisiana right now, otherwise I would have stopped in from the other side of town. :( I left early this morning, maybe I should have tried to arrange a peak yesterday...? Will you be in the NW anywhere in three weeks? Is there a list of shows you will be...

    what rubber

I was pretty happy with the set of STTs that I had, but I love my km2s more. The STT was great in deep snow but not so good with a dusting of snow or plowed roads. I ran the same set on two trucks so I don't know how long they lasted for sure, but they seemed to wear well. By comparison, the...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

So it appears that, when you buy a shell model, you miss out on several cu ft of storage below the bed rails...? Or am I missing something? The normal campers are cut different in the bottom section to make more interior space.
