good to hear I am not the only one thinking this way.

why are all the tents sideways mounted? I have a jeep with a sunroof an and it seems to me that if I turned the tent sideways and gained access through the sun roof I would have access to the tent from within the vehicle sorta like a poor mans flip pac. AmI missing something?

inverter I hard wired an 800watt inverter under the front passenger seat use it for power tools, charging stuff, running small hand held tools sawzall drills etc. I wish I would have gone bit higher then I could use it for my bosch jack hammer ( work related)

How much high speed off road driving ? That is not what I anthem for I don't go fast off road fast = breakage. But I do get stuck late on some trails where a nice combination set would be a benefit. But as you said not a lot so I don't want to spend a lot.
