2022 Ram Powerwagon with AEV components

How many miles? On tires? On build? Total? Very nicely done btw!! I had an earlier PW and fitted the UTE bed, just wasn’t pleased with the 5.7 back then…

2nd Gen Sequoia as offroad rig and tow platform

Not to be off topic, but the Lariat F-150 gets (or did in 2020) the Raptor T-case…

Thread for those that have their money down.

I bailed, bought a Bronco 2-door (manual tranny Sasquatch- feels like a manual NAS) and keeping the Tithonus to boot. I honestly like the F-150 cab/ergonomics better, being 6’-3”. They are cool, was hoping to replace a few vehicles and eliminate the ‘fleet’, but just can’t as I don’t feel it’s...

    Tonneau cover

Bill, I just retrofitted a ReTrax XR so I could lock/cover whilst retaining my Leitner rack. Nice cover! I also have a trifold solid cover for 6.5’ bed if you’re interested- can’t remember if it was on my PW or F-350 or both, but think it was the PW.

    Gladiator Mojave vs Rubicon

While I didn’t purchase a Gladiator, the frame reinforcements of the Mojave sold me on that model. Adding a front locker is much easier/cheaper than the frame and suspension improvements would cost. I have had a Power Wagon, though it was a few years ago, with the 5.7 Hemi, and I loved it! The...

    ‘06 Chevy Suburban 2500 4x4 w/ 8.1and only 74k miles *SOLD*

So, why would I even consider selling this unicorn? 2500, 4x4, 4.10’s, no OnStar, no Bose, G80 limited slip, last year of the GMT800 platform (accepted as the best generation of one of the most reliable vehicles ever built), last year of the 8.1, no rust and only 74k miles? Did I mention the...

A Lifted Overlanding Prius | Crossing Darién Gap | What's Needed?

Start waterproofing every connection and motor and supply source!! It will spend considerable time submerged or in mud deep enough to vanish! Keeping it light wil be next most important priority. Minimalistic like motorcycle travel- sleep in hammock with bug nets, water purifier, etc etc.

Risks of buying a new Grenadier

Maybe a little different perspective. So, how easy is it to restore/keep running a 25 year old Suburban? Pretty easy, next to no electronics, huge manufacturer for 100+ years, and huge aftermarket supply. How about a 60’s Studebaker or even an 80’s International Scout? Still doable, but better...

    winch - yeah or nah?

Not to mention a remote extraction will likely pay for a couple winches!! I’m impressed you’re getting instruction- try to locate a Bill Burke class if possible. Solo travel off the beaten path dictates a winch IMHO as stated above. Good luck and enjoy!

    CB500X vs V-Strom 650XT vs KLR650 vs Tenere 700

I guess this is a bit of a plug, but consider the ‘13 Husky Terra or Strada 650 (BMW mill with extra 10 HP head). I’m at the opposite end of the spectrum, 50+ years riding and over 500k miles on two wheels from racing to Iron Butt… All that to say, I have one of each and likely selling one or...

Stereo receiver w backup camera recommendations

We have a local fella that does the surrounding police/fire department electrical unfitting, as well as our stuff. He strongly recommends not going wireless as more and more items are, and can cause frequency interruption. Consequently, he hardwires rear cameras to the head unit or even a...

Solid winch mount and a good winch for extraction, possibly rear locker and you are likely 95% good!! Congrats, and pics of course ;-)
