I just realized, Thursday was my 5 year anniversary with the jeep.
June 25th, 2010 I came home with this:
5 years, several thousand miles, thousands of dollars, 16 stitches, a marriage, a new job, and a new city later, she's still with me.
Ah yes. Off-road essentials such as tube bumpers, because as we all know any supposed off-road vehicle without a nice set of tube numbers is really just a mall crawler poser trying to be the real thing!
Ps this was just for sale on eBay for $80,000 recently so it looks like they dropped the...
Either junk yard GM TBI take off (already have an ECM for it), or a setup from Bill on binderplanet, which is GM TBI as well but he sells it as a full kit including HEI, and will burn as many chips as you need him to to get it all dialed in. I'm not worried about any legality of it from state to...
Absolutely. You're aware of the FSJ Invasion in Ouray every year right?

I dont know if I really go further than you, and I certainly dont trust it all that much haha. Often times I'm driving around with a knot in my stomach paying attention...
Honestly just curious. I'm always interested to see how far and long people push these things on what types of trips and how much they trust them by embarking on the aforementioned trips.
Your rig is 16 years newer than mine and seems to have a lot of 'refreshing' done to the engine so I'm...
Thanks guys,
There hasn't been a whole lot happening with the Wagoneer lately, I've just been trying to drive it when I have free time. I've probably hit the dirt more in the past 3 months that I have lived in Reno that the whole year prior. I've been going out most every weekend to just...
did a little more putting around right near the house this weekend with the woman and the dog. nothing crazy, just a few miles and quite a bit of elevation.
I live somewhere down there.
Cold Springs and "White Lake" just up the road.
Jeep.
HARDCORE FLEX BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As mentioned a few places in here, fuel injection is absolutely the next planned major project. Whether I get there or not is the question.
I also absolutely need to get my headliner taken care of soon but because it's the bow style I'm getting ridiculous quotes from places.
I have considered a lot of things, but it may just be a point in my life when I am ready for a new project. We shall see. I am not going to be undertaking any major projects on it within the next year or so because of budget restrictions (house shopping).
If I sold it I wouldn't have anything...
Thanks guys.
While I now have a modern truck, I'm still hoping to get out and explore within several hours of Reno in the jeep and possibly tow the pop up with me.
But as mentioned above the idea of parting ways with it is also popping up more and more.
We shall see what happens. Nothing in...
Met up with a few FSJ's from the Reno area to do some shooting and light wheeling today.
Beautiful day to be out in the hills.
Down in the valley:
Up into the hills. Nothing crazy just narrow and bumpy dirt roads.
Didnt have a very good idea of where we were so we just started...
You never know....I'm looking to buy a house in the next 6 months and the thought has certainly crossed my mind...would definitely help towards down payment....
Yeah we have some weird stuff like that in Nevada too. Actually the laws are more strict than CA. In all of Clark county (read: Las Vegas area) and 'urban areas' of washoe county (read: only Reno) we have to smog check any. Shucks that is newer than 1967. But we can also file for exemption if we...
This is awesome. I love seeing other FSJ's getting built and used the way they were intended to be. Literally the perfect 4x4 for a family!
If you fret working on 20something year old FSJ suspension and drivetrain, try working on a 40 something year old setup! It's all easy though in reality...
Eh 117 ain't no thang. Had a dodge magnum with a hemi that had 140something on it and never had a single issue. I know that's not a ton but still.
In my 73 Wagoneer I swapped in an engine from a truck that had 155,000 on the clock...and the rest of my rig has 202,000 (who knows it could be...
