Mine did, right at the three year mark, and Odyssey replaced it because Sears would not. Note that the new DieHard AGMs are no longer coming from Odyssey. Supposed to be coming from Northstar.
My rack is 60" long and my awning is 98" long. I have three Yakima crossbars on the truck shell, with the front one there to support the nose of the awning on the driver's side and the water tank on the passenger side. A short awning gives very little usable shade at any time other than mid-day.
My new Ozark 26 was made in China. Locally (So Cal), there have been a few lines of no-name rotomolded coolers popping up on some of the outdoor websites and on CraigsList, with sellers taking orders for future delivery. Probably buying by the pallet or container from China.
I like the Ozark...
True. I have about 55M on mine and have never had any steering or death wobble issues. But I also pulled off the stock BFGs when I bought the truck new and replaced them with 35" Toyo M/Ts. I installed those new BFGs on my old GMC and when those tires hit about 30M the GMC developed death...
Before you give up on it, try multiple desulfation cycles with the battery completely disconnected from load, resting overnight between cycles. Test the open circuit voltage after the overnight rest off the charger and see if the OCV begins to creep up over the course of a few cycles. If you...
I bought a set of cordura "tactical" covers from the company that makes them for CoverKing. Mine were definitely not moderately priced, but they did some custom stuff that was not available from CoverKing (extra velcro panels, storage and flashlight pouches right where I want them, etc.). Well...
I used my new Ozark 26 for the first time yesterday, and I like it. Very sturdy, good seal around the top, good value compared to other rotomolded coolers in that size range. One of the guys on this outing tried to buy it from me on the spot. My only two gripes are that it's easy to pinch...
Don't just buy what they make for your Jeep, unless your power needs are somewhat normal. Check specs and dimensions and stuff in the biggest battery that will fit. Look at Northstar, Optima, Deka, Interstate. Many of those are also private labeled for various chains. Don't get an Odyssey...
Been a while since I have had to use my Viair (it's been the backup to my Warn OBA), but my recollection is that the hard-mount Viairs don't have a pressure switch, but the portables do come with a built-in pressure switch. My Viair is a portable, and I don't remember having to run it as a bleeder.
I use a Ctek 7002 on my Grp 31 Odyssey AGM when it needs to be topped up between trips. It WILL charge the Odyssey but it WON'T recondition it. Odyssey prefers at least 40 amps for that battery, but they say that a 25 amp charger with the correct profiles will work on the Grp 31. The 7002 has...
I don't have a link handy, but some of the Toy specialist shops have a wiring adapter that steps up the output voltage of the Toy alternator. Probably a small transformer between the the alt and the battery. Most modern vehicles have voltage controlled by the ECM, and it is not adjustable...
FYI, ARB used to sell their fridge with a standard cigarette lighter plug, and over time on bumpy roads the plug would sometimes work itself loose from the socket, causing sometimes troublesome results for the stuff in the fridge. When I hard wired a socket into the back seat of my truck for my...
There are dozens of Pelican-style knockoffs on Amazon. I needed a couple of small boxes last year to fit specific spaces, so I just ordered sizes that would fit, without regard to brand. The two brands that I got are very serviceable and so far have been waterproof. One is mounted as a small...
I used to carry a couple of digital thermometers in the truck, just so I would know how miserable I was. Hottest I noticed inside the camper shell (white) was 185F. Cans of Coke exploded all over the interior. Tough to keep ice in those conditions.
