Awesome! I didn't know your intent with wiring the indicator lights and actual switched power separate like that. That is slick, I like it! You're definitely putting switches in my truck.

Thanks for the link! I like the foam, and it's a strong contender. I just don't love the price. It would be sweet if there were something more generic, so it could be cheaper. In other words, I don't need the outside dimensions to be such that it fits in their case. If I could just get the...

Totally welcome! And thank you. These ideas are not patented, I just wanted to try something a little out of the ordinary.

Thanks! I'm really pleased with it, too! It's cool to put something on paper, and then make it into a real thing. I want to rework the drawer for the grill as it fits a little too snug for my liking. And the sink drawer makes it look like a hunka junk lol. But during construction it's workable...

So I ordered these super-beefy drawer slides for the fridge. Maybe overkill, but it's fairly heavy, even empty, so I don't want to take any chances. I whipped up a tray from 3/4" plywood: Fridge fits nice and snug in it I might want to do something a little different with the plug if...

That receiver tow hook is $$$. I wonder if you should put any grease inside the key slot on the pin lock. I see it has a nice cover, but if you don't touch it for a year or two it would suck if it seized up on you.

Sorry for the hiccup in progress here folks, I know it's been a little bit. Life kinda got in the way a bit. Plus the cold weather is a hindrance. I rebuilt the transfer case in my TJ and did some other associated work, trying to sort out kinks in that rig so it's ready for summer wheeling and a...

Of course, we need a cooking surface! We already have a propane grill so we incorporated that and designed around it. The grill has to slide out of the trailer side wall so we can use it without burning the whole place down, so it's on a sort of upside-down drawer. We wanted to take full...

So the rear of the trailer has a couple stabilizer jacks. They have to be tall, due to the height of the trailer. This makes them long, when collapsed. Since it's such a small trailer, this was a little tricky to deal with. I wanted to tuck them up "into" the frame as much as possible, to...

So I need to know the compressed and uncompressed eye-to-eye straight-line dimensions of the springs. Then make sure that the shackle limits meet or exceed those dimensions. That's the gist of it?

Thanks Brad! I was actually kind of waiting for some commentary on the rear shackle placement. It was hard to find much useful information about how they should be located. I've been half-expecting to have to move them. What's the best method, though? Do I load up the trailer with all the...

Huge thanks to our friend Ryan, who generously donated a set of wheels he was no longer using. They were in a sorry state, but they were round and probably held air, so we were thankful nonetheless. I bolted one up as soon as I got them home, just to see. I was slightly worried I had maybe...

For the brackets I made, it wasn't really an option as I would have had to drill the holes first, but no great way to locate the holes perfectly. For welding on the washers to the nuts, I could have put them on a bolt, but I didn't have any on hand. Everything gets the threads chased after...

Our heat source is propane. We worked out the early drawings to leave space for a 30lb. tank, knowing that it was probably way too much propane. But we figured it's better to have more than enough space, rather than not enough. So when we got ready to buy the tank, we went with a 30lbs...

Yes, I'm using flux-core. The extra heat is helping; I didn't love the amount of penetration I was getting with solid wire. I highly recommend the blue tape method. We found that the grill top was within an inch of our stove. Then we moved it in the design, but it's still really close.

I already told you that we'll have water on board. Here's how. We got a tank from plastic-mart.com. I don't know if you're familiar, but it seems like a great resource; they have a huge variety of tank volumes and shapes. Ours is 20 gallons, so about 160 pounds full. It's probably the heaviest...
