    Recent F150 Pics

Well it's still got a ways to go, but it's slowly getting closer to where I want it anyway. What I have so far; 06 F150 FX4 crew cab, 5.4L, tow package 3.73's with limited slip Bilstein 5100's with front shocks set to +2" 3" rear blocks that replaced stock 2" blocks 35x12.50R18 BFG KM2s on...

    Hi Rise Shell w/basket/rack?

Don't put a rack on the canopy, it won't look good with a high sloping canopy, imo. Plus you are just throwing the center of gravity even higher. Get a Yakima Megawarrior and put it on the cab with gutter mounts or something.

Project Build: RocKrawlers 01 F250 CC SB PSD

I know I, personally, would prefer lockable storage. I almost bought a can-back years ago for my ranger, but couldn't stand the idea of leaving gear back there when I'm not with the truck.

    7.3 PSD durability?

If you pick one up with the ZF 6 speed it will be a good, dependable rig. I believe some years had forged rods, others didn't. The motors without them are good for around 400 HP I hear. Something to think about if/when you add exhaust, intake, and a chip/tuner. Even under 400HP it should be a...

    Lockers vs. TruTrack

The factory limited slip in there is a trac-loc, clutch based limited slip. It is better than an open diff, but the clutches wear out (they can be rebuilt somewhat tighter), and you can still sit and spin one tire that is in the air. Or if one tire is stuck, it may sit there while the other one...

    Lockers vs. TruTrack

I find that most of the people who badmouth automatic lockers and claim they are dangerous have never run them. They are very predictable. It does take a little bit of adjustment, but they are 100% predictable. They do not "randomly" lock. I would definitely not prefer a spool over an automatic...

When did these things get so cheap?

GMC / Chevy typically have very low resale, so it is not surprising. I worked at a dealership years ago and was surprised to learn how "upside down" everyone was in their GM trucks, most couldn't get out of them because they owed way more than they were worth. I guess age is all relative. If it...

    Lockers vs. TruTrack

Stuck here with a limited slip. The left rear tire just sat and spun like crazy, and the right stayed in one spot.

    Lockers vs. TruTrack

Hey Mike! Perfect example. With a rear locker Mike's ranger would drive right up that with no wheel spin. I never found the aussie locker in my sport trac to be a bad thing, and it was my daily driver. Driving on snow covered roads, it exacted exactly as a limited slip. Easy on the throttle and...

    Lockers vs. TruTrack

I've had a couple of trucks (including current F150) with limited slips. They are okay for most driving. But on an Explorer Sport Trac that I had installed aussie lockers in (front and rear) it was amazing. Even with just the rear locker, it would walk right up places I would previously struggle...

    pop up camper advise pls

I'm not sure where in Oregon you are, but normally a couple pop-up mfgs show up at Portland RV shows and Sportsman/outdoor shows. Most of the four wheel campers do not have much in the way of storage tanks. They are lighter and more compact. I would probably look more at hallmark since you are...

    Sketchup - Custom slide-in pop-up camper drawing

Thanks Keeno. If it ever does get built, there would be upgrades to the truck. I felt the F150 would work well, though I wouldn't consider it as much on an older F150, or a newer Toyota or Chevy 1/2 ton. The 04-08 F150's have a much more stout frame, spring pack, and rear axle. The 9.75 rear...

    Sketchup - Custom slide-in pop-up camper drawing

From downloading it and getting it to the point of the pictures, probably 11 hours. I have an issue where I get started on something and will work on it continuously until it is done or I am satisfied. Next thing I knew it was 6AM! Luckily didn't have to work the next day... I should say that it...

    Sketchup - Custom slide-in pop-up camper drawing

Shhhh.... I just bought the F150! lol I went back and forth between an F150 and a super duty with diesel. Somehow decided on the F150 as I don't believe I need a super duty. Anywho, the sketchup is a little over kill. Initially I never planned on a generator or a/c unit, or such a big water...
