In a dually the front axle width is wider to better match the rear. What he meant was you should be able to easily convert your front end to factory dually width.

Found a Duramax that would be a good base for what I want. Motivated to move this thing quickly!
$7,500 obo
I like the burb but I kinda want to hot rod a diesel again.
I got this Burb to haul people and our boat. It does both great. I was also going to use it as a base for an adventure rig. Right now mechanically it's fairly sorted out, ready for your personalized touches to make it adventure ready...
Awesome build! Makes me motivated to build my crusty K20 that's sitting.
Here's some info from Pirate on the nv4500 swap - http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/chevy/979116-help-tranny-swap-th400-nv4500.html
Those are the go to guys with tech info on square bodies, but be careful, while a good...
P.S. when I threw in my new radiator last weekend I also went and reseated the intake. I suspected that when I messed up the torque sequence I created an air leak and it wasn't quite running right. Well, I think I've ruled out placebo and it idles a little smoother now and seems to run a bit...
I'm glad you're taking the hit on all the investigation for this issue, Rayra, since it's too infuriating for me to confront working on. I look forward to you finding a solution :D
Since I've blown out the evap can and the solenoid in the rear, it's kind of gotten better, but with a 38 gallon...
I fricken miss the days of my Duramax. It was really quite spectacular, get this... so there was this tube with a cap on it, and when you took the cap off, you could pour diesel in from any angle/place/speed/direction. And when it got all the way up to the top of the neck, you could stop and put...
So, rayra, I don't recall if it was here or in my own thread where you recommend I replace the main belt tensioner ... well at any rate, when I read the suggestion I was already pretty much wrapped up with the bulk of my work and figured ah it'll be fine.
Fast forward to the trip from...
I'm with you man, that's how mines been. I still haven't replaced canister/solenoid/valve or anything, just blown it out, but imagine your frustration but then imagine having to put 30+ gallons in haha
Mine got slightly worse/no change after blowing it out, but then after a few weeks its not...
Interesting you say that.
I have a "rough idle", and coincidentally just replaced my intake gasket... but I accidentally didn't follow correct torque sequence. I wonder if that's my issue. It's a new to me truck so the rough idle was there before I replaced the intake gasket... I think.
Anyone got some ideas of what to check to help smooth out the idle? I wouldn't necessarily describe it as rough, but it'll just have the odd "shake" that kind of rocks the body. Kinda can just feel it through out the truck.
I've cleaned the MAF which looked fine to start. New plugs. Oil...
Yeah I kind of figured the same, that the canister wasn't really the issue. I did a little more research last night and the p0446 code I was getting is more likely the valve like you said.
I'll attempt to clean the valve after work today.
I wasn't sure what would happen if I just left the...
Alright, so...
I decided to get the charcoal canister out today and blow it out to see if it'd help.
Of all the things I've ever done to a vehicle, that was probably one of most infuriating extractions of a part, ever.
Gas tank skid is made out of fiberglass, found that out the hard way...
Funny, I had a CEL just the other day saying the charcoal canister was having an issue, and I didn't put two and two together that the extremely obnoxious issue of the fuel pump tripping every second was because of this as well.
I like the area, I am up there often for work.
I'll get to the suspension overhaul eventually. Need to recoup $$ after the first round of parts thrown at it.
Panhard bar? This is a 2500 with leafs in the rear.
I have been contemplating what to do about my whole lack of bump stops, and I...
