We lived in Montrose way back in the mid-70’s. We’ll be going back for the first time next August. Let’s all hope and pray that the area gets enough snow this year to keep the fires away.
Thanks for the beautiful video. You always do great stuff.

Yeah, I know, the bugger is too big to ship. It is a great little system. Nanc and I can cook for 6-8 people for at least a weekend with it. Great storage.

Dimensions: 30" high, 40.5" wide, and 31" deep. This is made up of 1/2" rectangular steel tubing. It isn't light. Held down by using the four existing tie down points in your 4Runner. It doesn't move when tied down properly. It has six plastic bins, one metal drawer, and a slider originally...
I believe this is the only Australian Chuckwagon ever imported into the U.S. My buddy Geoff brought it over ~ 15 years ago for his FJ62 Cruiser. He sold it to me after a few years and I modified it to work with 3rd gen 4Runners. Here it is in my '97 T4R at the Northwest Overland Rally...
Um, no skin in this game, but. If you are an American serviceman, why can't you have it built to U.S. standards, get it registered and licensed in your home state, use it in Europe just like you can an American vehicle or motorcycle, then "reimport" it back to the states when you come home?
I have 4.56 in my 5th gen 4Runner. Used to also run 33" Coopers. Now running 32" BFJ TAKO2's and still like my gearing. BUT, if I was going to run anything bigger like 35s, I would seriously look at the 4.88 gears.
A couple I took while attending the first NWOR near Ellensburg, WA, back in 2011 (?). Rode over on my 2002 DL650GS Dakar. Should never have gotten rid of that bike.
When the pavement ends, the fun begins.
Miles of dirt and gravel USFS roads with no one else on them. It was paradise.
Gary, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Nanc and I have been through this will our parents. There really isn't anything one can say to take away the sadness other than our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Take care of yourself.

Darin, I'm so old I can't remember much of what life was like before 50, ha ha! Life is what you make of it. When you get back stateside just jump in with both feet and never look back.
First off, I did NOT take either of these two pics. When I was still able to ride dual sport motorcycles I spent a lot of time paging through the ADV Rider web site. I found both pics there. If someone knows who the photographers are, I'd love to have their names posted here.
Dark Skies Over...
And a most blessed and happy Thanksgiving to all of my friends and fellow adventurers! Looking forward to traveling the roads less traveled with you in the near future!
Nanc and I recently completed a bit more mundane adventure with our family in Cabo San Lucas. Ten days of sun and fun in an...
Postlude:
Would I ever want to do a trip like this again, especially with this group of ROF's? YES, in a New York minute. You guys were all exceptional; putting up with numerous last minute changes. Too bad we didn't make it up to the three other campsites I had planned. I think you would have...
