Here is my 17 Host on my 16 truck. I installed 6 6volt deep cycle and a 4k PSW inverter. It powers the whole coach including the AC or the electric fire place. I also carry a 2k Honda for recharge.
I guess I should have explained that is loaded to the max for us. We only do that if were going up to the national forrest an hour away. Longer trips are much less loaded or we take the 5th wheel.
Either way after 300k miles in 8 different RV's over 24 years, 49 states, 44 national parks( I...
The body (box) is 11.5 feet long. Pretty standard for a slide in truck camper. They work fine on a 1 ton DRW. I'm not sure if they would even sell just the EV box or if they will mount it to anything but the Fuso....They make very nice truck campers though.
Interesting videos. I just returned from a 3 week trip out west. There was a large european exped rig parked next to me at Mt. Rushmore. I ended up seeing him many times over the next 2 weeks.
In the Big Horn mountains, Cody, WY. We were at the Rodeo at the same night. He was 7 sites down...
That truck is all stock. Factory rear air suspension set in lower position. TL frame mount tie downs. Factory tires and wheels. 14K GVW. Rear axle 9750lbs, front 6000lbs. Total 15750 lbs.
Factory tires are good for 18120 lbs. Loaded with full water, fuel, supplies, and 2 people...
There is a market for the 150K price. ER are way over priced for what you get. My 2016 Laramie Limited 3500 DRW and my 2017 Host mammoth are in that market. I have the luxury, drop dead reliable
drivetrain, and some room. 65 gal of water, gen set, I put 6 6 volt batts in with a 4k pure sine...
Here is my new Host mammoth. I can have all 3 slide outs in or out in 10 seconds. Yes they are that fast, all 3 switches right by the door. WE LOVE IT!!!!
It's pretty straight forward. Load your truck with fuel and people and what ever else and drive across the scales. Subtract that number from the GVW. I have a 2016 DRW RAM crew cab limited.
With me and wife and full fuel and DEF and hold downs for camper I am 9300lbs. More than I thought...
Lets hope you never have to stop quickly. Your going to be way over loaded and the handling is going to suck. Your not going to enjoy driving it at all. Been there done that. Just do it right from the start and get a bigger truck. You will thank me.
