My son drive a 2000 discovery and all of a sudden it has started shake/ I haven't see it but I think maybe it could be wheel balance. I am worried it could be something else. He is in flagstaff and I am in san diego. Any one know what it could? How about a reliable land rover mechanic in the...
Thanks
I have always like the monteros look and neve knew much about them. I may have to sell my Jeep wrangler rubicon and I was thinking of replacing it with a montero I did some research and found the one I like is the gen 2.5 with a 3.5 dohc. I aslo found I can get an arb bumper and winch...
What can you guys tell me about the generation 2 I think it may have been called the endeavor or? . It looks to me like a competitor to the 98 -2000 landcrusiers I think it has a locker maybe ?.
so what is the size of the rear diff?.
does it have a locker? how reliable are the engines...
nice trip
Very nice write up? I used to drive a 4 wheel drive suburban (2500) like that I had kids come knocking on my door to tow them out of mud holes. Bums me out though people harassing the elk. maybe they should pick on a grizzly see what happens.
Do I put the fuse on the positive line ? can i just put the ground directly to the neg terminal on the battery? I have a mod sine wave 800 watt inverter and am hooking it up. I want to use a 100 amp fuse I think just off the positive side of the battery about 1 foot away? I am running the...
regular gas
I had a 98 fj 100 I sold it after about 125k miles but always ran regular except when I was headed to the mountains I don't think it is a big deal I never had any problems
new interior
There is a thread on JKforum. I like it . Never did understand why a tough vehicle can't have a comfortable interior unless you are just mudding. My old land cruiser had leather power seats heated seats and ran 35's with a full wrap around arb and front end protection. I...
Ome
I own an 08 rubicon. I suggest you look at the OME kits you can go a vairety of heights and if you add heavy duty winch bumpers and winch plus rear tire carrier then you will need the extra spring strength. Take a look at JK forum, there is a lot of really good info there.
Cost as an issue
perhaps cost should play a design role/ Also may it could be built so that these things are modular and be purchased alter on 1 or 2 items at a time/even using regularly available item such as arb refriges
This is one of those idea that many have probably thought of> Has any one taken a regular say Rei back packing tent and set it up on say a gobi roof rack such that it simply folds out ? It would be light weigh you could probably get it with a four seasons rating. Use either a high density...
I have been trying to sell my 07 toyota. It is advertised on here. I just got a call from a company called Auto Marketing group, who say they have a buyer for the truck. Sounds too good to be true. Ahh! the catch I have to pay a 500 refundable deposit to them which I get back when the...
I don't know What would you build?
I think four wheel drive will always be here, In the end there are always guys like us that would rather control the rigs. Also if you look at the shoot out from land crusier fj vs rubicon the rubicon wins off road. So there may be some movement towards...
another thought
I see that AT ? is coming out with a sort of flip pac for that jeep ? What about throwing that on the back. I saw the article on this site I think overland journal? That is what I want!!
Way Cool
I saw the article on that jeep in one of the 4wheel drive mags. It is the inspiration for me to keep my jeep and sell the tacoma. Do You know where the rear quarter panel guards came from?
I am considering selling my Flip Pac Camper. It is in very good condition. You can see it under expedition vehicles for sale posting Jeep or tacoma. It fits a the newer body style short bed pick up. I have had a lot of interest in the the camper it self but not he truck, I would need to...
Tahoe and Dual force
That looks good. What did you have to do to modify it? Was it just cutting the a hole to fit the higher profile? Did you have to re-drill or drill the mount ing holes through the base of the bumper so the winch could be bolted down? DO the mounting holes on the bumper...
