In my neighbors case he does big man made lake projects was retired but got pulled back in after a year of retirement. In his case he drags around some big equipment at times.
Might get my first SUP in April. Yes I suffer from boat itis. 28ft Ericson, 14ft RS Feva and a classic 9ft Avon Redcrest with hard bottom pack.
Id love to sell the 28footer and build a PT Skiff.
Anyway told the wife 11ft or longer inflatable SUP. Were up on Lake Tahoe for a bit this summer...
The specs on these new F series are crazy. So is the price tag 😄
My neighbor just bought a F250 4x4 diesel max tow kit etc. 500hp! Wholly biblical hp man! Its also quiet. Id even say it quieter than my 2.5 Subaru at cold start which reminds me of the old Cessna 172 I flew for solo...
I doubt it gets the more costly and better sealed round filter intake air box which looks like the same set up my 93 Land Cruiser had.
I recall reading some place that North American trucks the GM and the Ranger get some areas of the frames reworked to deal with crash standards / performance...
Couple of the dads in my group will probably get some type of light trail bike and trailer or hitch rack them to dads away trips in a few yrs. I ve had too many friends hit in just the last 3 yrs everyone texting driver hit them from behind while on the move! Not while stopped given we filter...
Somewhat same story, but 65,000 commute miles in 4 yrs. Before that lots of cycling and MTB riding. Taking the responsible kid rearing break with the occasional MTB ride for my fix. When I return it will be off pavement only, no interest in being texting cager bait these days.
The 2wd 4banger xtra cab tacomas are a great bang for the buck. Two friends have 5spd s and both have nearly 300,000 on them. Both use them as the dad escape pod mtb rig etc. 6ft bed shell on etc
I have often wondered why the tent makers still use those pole pockets across the top of the tents. Frigin hate those.
Free standing refers to the exterior free standing pole frame the tent then clips too. Vs fishing poles through tent pockets and having to support the tent till the poles get...
I did that when I bought my Land Cruiser. I burned lots of Dinosaurs! But the thing I hated most was the lame range. Which was why the Subaru ended up as the primary rig.
Just filled up the Subaru today 330 in town miles on 13 gallons out of the 18 in the tank. My sequoia we only see about...
If a road is impassable by a Subaru you either need the security of a second vehicle to self rescue or you hike it or ride the dirt bike. I grew up doing deep backcountry trips every summer. Usually involved an hour or two on this kind of dirt road to the trail heads. Our 65hp non turbo diesel...
First water crossings are not ideal for any vehicle. I doubt that 4runner owner thought about diff vent extensions, and greased up/ sealed wiring harness plugs. Wheel bearings etc.
The Toyota is no more water capable than Subaru other than intake height.
The subaru legacy/OutBack easily tows 1300-1500lbs thats my typical camping mode 21mpg big trip tank averages are the norm in that range 4x6 trailer
My 1800lb all up with trailer 8.5ft wide sailboat which was about roof line height I ran 16-18mpg windage was the bigger factor.
A tall box 5x8...
