True. But the law you posted is not about GVWR.

    Weight

Back up a few sections and you'll find this: " 2353. Weight limits. Except as provided in section 2355, the following gross vehicle weight limits apply to vehicles operating on a public way: A. For a 2-axle vehicle, 34,000 pounds" Section 2355 has a formula based on distance between axles...

Bragging on my daughters first published Rover article…

That was a fun read. Nicely structured and edited without being overly so. It shows how much of our love for a vehicle is tied to the memories they hold.

    “Real” off-road trailers…

I'm not sure I would trust any of the square drops for the real off-road usage you describe. Patriots, Turtlebacks, or XVentures. And Schutt isn't taking orders or quoting prices for their XVentures for at least the next 60 days.

This is from Schutt: "...due to extremely high demand, uncertainty of material availability and prices we are unable to provide pricing or estimated delivery dates for our XV-2 or XV-3 trailers at this time, as we are sold out of the current production run. We are hoping to have new pricing...

No experience with Overkill - just thanking you for useful input. I'm about 8 months into a wait for a TetonX - no updates from them since the first non-binding deposit. Schutt isn't taking orders at all. For now, we'll upgrade our vehicle and stick with a ground tent.

Vehicle Modding Is Dead In the European Union; Now What?

There is not sufficient generation capacity to replace ICE engines, and the required new generation capacity will require new transmission lines. Misguided attempts to replace reliable power with wind and solar would make things far worse. Estimates are that replacing current U.S. power...

Vehicle Modding Is Dead In the European Union; Now What?

Why don't more countries seek freedom, and why do the Eastern Europeans sign up for such regulation?

    Maximum Lift on IFS Vehicle?

Also, changing the neutral point doesn't do much to allow a larger tire. At max up travel, the hub is in the same place it would have been without the lift, so if a larger tire would rub before the lift, it will rub after the lift. You can carve away the rub points (body mounts, fender, etc)...

How much weight with stock suspension?

I have an LFD Hybrid bumper and a 10K winch with synthetic line on a stock KDSS ORP suspension. No nose diving. If I look for it, I can see that it rides a little lower in front. I'll wait and do the lift next spring after I decide what to do with the rear end.

    Soft vs. Hard Shackles

Maxtrax markets one of their soft shackles as a "fuse shackle", providing a known weakest point in the chain. You use that somewhere in the middle - inboard of any metal hardware - to minimize the likelihood of mass flying at you. I agree with your point in that if we try to make every part of...

    ***SCAMS ON EXPO*** BEWARE!!!
