Very interesting story.
I will not lie, when I say the title of the thread, I also thought it would be something funny.
Basically he gave these rigs away to you. And you will do him well never to part with them. And I think the most important thing is keeping the maintenance in the log book...
Just for fun, I just made a map now of possible places to stop for gas or just rest. I will probably stop at all of these places or skip some of it. Atleast, this will keep the trip interesting and not tiring for that night trip...
Did you travel during the day or overnight? I am guessing you may have traveled during the day. Not much talk during the day as at night.
I was on a trip once and it was about 10pm and I was driving and passing up some of these 18 wheelers. This was in Tennessee. Man, did one guy have a potty...
Lol, I hope it is not too hot.
Thanks.
No kidding, I just looked at that round trip and it is truly 5 hours like you say. That means I would be very busy on that day. I plan to leave the hotel quite early for the early morning drive. You know sunrise at Big Bend is usually a very pretty...
There has been so many threads on these 2 parks that people have learned almost everything about these parks. But since I have an upcoming trip, I decided why not make a thread and share pictures and maybe videos everyday on my trip.
Trip is from April 20th to April 25th
This is my tentative...
Thanks for the response. I am not surprised you both got pinstripping. I have been to Big Bend twice and got pinstripping both tines on the trails and was not too fond ot it, lol. But it is truly unavoidable if one gets on the trails at Big Bend, especially at the state park.
I am leaving for...
Wow. Great looking truck. You know a good seller when they provide over 30 very detailed pictures of the rig they are selling.
One of these days, I will have to jump on these deals and do what I have always been thinking to myself. Buy a expo ready rig, take on a serious road expo trip and when...
Great report. Great pictures.
Man, I love how you beat up your rigs. Pictures usually do not do some trails justice. Some of those trails do guarantee rig damage. Love how you take it with stride.
Keep up the great posts and adventure.
One life to live. Make it count!
Great report. Loved reading it and looking at your pictures.
LOL, it is kind of common to see a car have some kind of trouble during such long trips. So, glad to see yours performed flawlessly.
Great family trip!
Great report and pictures as usual. I have a tentative trip planned for this summer (July 2017) and I see you have visited many of the places I plan to visit on my trip.
Keep up the great work.
Wow. Epic trip. Man, I just hate though that that new 4runnuer took such beatings and has some damage to it that would cost some money for sure.
But experience was priceless.
Love it!!!
Great report.
Maybe I should take tips from you because I have a road trip planned for this summer and I plan to visit Banff, Jasper, Yellowstone and possibly drive on Beartooth Pass. I bet I will be seeing a lot of the places you saw. I am driving from Texas. Will start a thread soon for my trip.
