    QB's Charlie the Lost Pathfinder

Suggestion buy about 4 of those bumper bits and toss in the pathy somewhere, I have broken all 4 this year, they getting on 17 years old and the plastic is shot. Takes about 15 minutes to pop them in with a long set of needle nose.

    My 2001 Pathfinder (R50 ) mild/budget build

I just did the bushings, they are tough to cut out. Clear the rubber 1st, then you need to remove a metal insert. The metal portion needs to be cut and driven out. I had a perfect sized piece of steel pipe and used that to drive the insert out after cutting. Do one arm at time and you...

    Impassible When Wet

Tires yup a fun decision, I went with the St/Maxx on my Pathfinder. Heavy but not too bad a hit on fuel mileage they seem to work well here in the Northwest. I tend to avoid mud like the plague but the few times I got into some slimy stuff I got out ok. I have limited use in snow Vancouver...

Central BC North of Adams Lake Day 6 of a 7 day Trip around Southern BC Looking back the way I came as I turn west on the Finn FSR - at about 3500 Ft the haze is mostly smoke from forest fires it was really bad on the second day to the East and South of Golden BC. Where it is if anyone is...

    xterra vs pathfinder 2005+

I will just added check the South/Central American service possibilities, and most importantly parts. Repairs can be done but if you are waiting 3 months for parts that could be painful. You are better to make your choice on what is readily available and serviceable there, could be a...

    Long Gun Storage

I like that Aerofab, if I had a roll bar that would perfect. I have a shotgun I keep behind the front seats, in a black scabbard. I am in a Pathfinder it is handy when I need it an pretty much out of sight. I would think what you are carry matters is a truck gun or something nicer. For...

I am in BC so starting in the SE corner (Fernie) going north possibly as far as Prince George (time permitting) then south until I am back home in the Vancouver area. It should be mostly FSR's with some hiway through the parks, I am trying to figure away up into the Williams Lake area from the...

Is this a decent recovery setup?

I will add be prepared to walk out or stay overnight, just a day pack, sleeping bag, some basic food and water. Even small cheap tent is nice if you can not sleep in vehicle. Lastly - because I see this all the time decent good foot wear - flip flops etc do not cut it if you need to walk for a...

Thanks Marty1977, unfortunately that area is best seen late May early June before school is out and mid week. There is a route from Boston bar to Harrison (Koopi Pass) that I want to checkout from that end, to see how 2 slides were doing, but alot of heavy equipment for logging working the...

Camping at Nahatlatch Lakes BC Truck setup run for my 7 day run in August. Other than a slight packing issue everything ran well. I sleep in the back on a fold up cushion arrangement, it works out pretty well. No bears sighted but at least one big black bear in the area based on scat size...

    Random Scenic Shots

Just some general images Some beautiful shots here thought I would toss a few out, new to digital photography and editing. It was a dark day with the usual West Coast weather. All taken on the Squamish River FSR, North of Vancouver BC, May 19th this year General view of the river...

Do you feel the need to have a weapon when camping

Interesting thread I carry a shotgun, but it is more of just in case of turning a corner while fishing and being way to close to a bear, never needed to use it but it is there and ready. Also handy if actually breakdown and have to supplement my food. As to the issues with other campers that...

    2001 R50 Pathfinder Build-up.

I had thought about a platform with drawers at the back and liftable lids at front where the seats are. It makes access a lot easier and the drawers shorter. My concern has always been weight, I just cannot figure a good material that is both light and sturdy in my price range. As well I...

    My 2001 Pathfinder (R50 ) mild/budget build

BC - you get out in the remote areas gas stations "if" there are any are open random hours. I go pretty far a field, and drive along ways to get to an isolated lake to fish, my worst case was about 385K before reaching pavement then another 50 to a gas station and I only get about 420-430K to a...

    My 2001 Pathfinder (R50 ) mild/budget build

Nice setup, not enough extra gas for me - I carry about 40 liters inside, no fume or leak issues so far. I have been looking for a better method though, I need to carry a full tank's worth and inside is not really viable.

    2001 R50 Pathfinder Build-up.

Just a point I replaced my rear control arms and only got a year out of them, to fair I had a shock bushing go that might have contributed. I went poly after that and 2 years down the road no issues. I average around 3000KM of forest service road travel a year everything from most flat and...

It occurs to me that I rarely take campsite photos as I tend to travel solo, but here I am just pulled in and setup to eat. Tyaughton Lake BC, 1st stop on 4 day road trip between Vancouver and Williams Lake and home. Nice trip 2100+ KM total about 1800 more or less on FSR'S and goat tracks
