    1120 AF Build in Norway

Jon, Can I ask the price you paid for your box from TC?

    Home brew CTIS / STIS?

Jon, when I was discussing the Ti.Systems install I was quite reliability informed (by a german dealer)* the trucks own compressor and tank system would be totally sufficient (engine running of course) to fill all 4 corners at the same time. Do you have another reason to use an additional...

Very unfortunate, please keep us updated with the progress. Can't offer much advice I am afraid but if you need some help researching and sourcing parts in the EU let me know!

    Home brew CTIS / STIS?

I have been looking at the various central/stationary inflation systems and came across the much hyped ti.systems STIS, however the 3000 Euro price tag (for 4x4 single wheels) has me thinking, these are basically central pressure regulation circuits with what looks like off the shelf lines and...

    Importing to the USA

A 4*4 Vario base in good condition in central europe will cost you an arm and possibility 2 legs (although looking at mog and MB prices in US it might not be such a shock for you). I would advise to look in UK and Northern europe for a base vehicle.

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

I think it's it was a good idea to replace those, my rear leafs also look like this and they are completely dependant on the helpers on both sides. I also ordered from DFF (Jon should get a commission for sending so much business theri way) all four corners and dampers too. I had not really...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

So Gertrude has found her home for the winter, or at least a few weeks while the heavy chassis optimisation is done, I'll post some details in the coming weeks. But for now here's the truck heaven where tired souls go to rest and recover:

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Looks like a really nice truck, pity about the 2nd gear. Do you know exactly which gearbox it has? Because on my truck the 1st is only used for heavy loads on very steep terrain.. I am always taking off in 2nd anyway. I have the G4/65 box btw.. My only advice is find out exactly which box it...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Do you happen to have a picture of the custom washer? I suppose in the picture below the chassis mount and upper part of the hanger is what you are referring to and not where it intersects directly onto the leaf? I had not thought about the "bump stops" to be honest.. Although my truck mechanic...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Nice! GENERAL EAST CO.,LTD but I found them on www.TrailerBull.com I've had very good experiences ordering from Aliexpress and alike but I have also been ripped off... This just seems like too big of a risk and I couldn't find much on the net about their site/customers...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Just for visual purposes these "arbeidsbrakke" are very common in Norway due to outside workers regulations, something about workers not being allowed to freeze to death ? If we go this route we will need to find a firm that can build us a torsion free subframe (paperwork is important for our...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

OK, so lots of stuff happening behind the scenes, but we have been a little delayed in getting the fire department stuff removed, we had originally planned to use a tractor forklift to hold the cab up and drive the truck out from under it. On closer inspection we found a number of intersecting...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Depending on the cab and chassis state 30k is quite reasonable for a 1124 these days it seems, if the condition is right. I have seen a couple of 1124 1.5 cabs in Switzerland being offered for 45k (albeit prepped for a habitat). I do not remember if they had front diff locks thou. I do recall...

    Drop in replacement alternator 150A

OK, so the most recent part number for my truck at least is A 010 154 90 02. Interestingly enough all the OEM alternators online with those part numbers are 80A rated with one being 110amps, i suppose it is just easier to use standard internals etc than keeping around the 55A ones.. I am not...

    Drop in replacement alternator 150A

Speaking of gensets, has anyone experience the truck designed units from dometic? They look like truck tool boxes, suppose to be silent but I think run on gasoline..

    Drop in replacement alternator 150A

Hi Neil, I do not plan to Idle. The first few years will be a lot of travel within Norway with 4-9 hours in between stops this should be enough to fully charge my planned bank (8*280Ah 3.2v cells). At a 50A charge I am calculating to be fully charged within 6 hours using the REDARC BCDC1250D...

    Drop in replacement alternator 150A

Massive thanks to @DiploStrat for providing me with a Bosch part number for exactly what I was looking for, I have been looking at autodoc and found some "copies" of this alternator for about 11/3 of the price. Does anyone have any experience with AS-PL or CV PSH ? Visually they all look...
