...but I already have the steel tube, it's cut, it fits... I plan to extend the fiberglass over-cab, to the edge of the steel tube...
...and regarding taxes: I'm not interested in getting politically philosophical... Sorry to take this build thread that direction...
12 - Cabin Re-Set...
Last week was another busy one... Remodeling a waterfront residence, helping a "start-up" trailer company with design and process, back to remodeling and some surfboard work with my mentoree... Throw in our garage door opener replacement on multiple evenings, and my...
Vehicle Registration...
A few weeks ago, I took the owner transfer paperwork between Mike and me to the State Vehicle Registration office in a strip mall... Do the legal process before the big fines kick in...
Was told that since the transfer took place outside of Washington State, in Oregon...
My thought is that if you go out and decide to stay away for a while, water is the one thing you would not want to run out of... Forty gallons of fuel can get you well away and back again, the solar and batteries cover the fridge and there is still plenty of space for storage and an absurd...
11 - Water Tank, continued...
Last week was hot here in the PNW and the day job was re-siding a home... I did the old sheeting tear off, staying ahead of my buddy putting the new stuff up... Long days and too tired to work on the Jeep after work... Sorry for not posting more...
(above) The...
10 - Fresh Water Tank Expansion...
(above) The former grey water tank sits below the floor level and currently has an exact capacity of ten gallons...
(above) To increase the capacity, the tank will fit within the future curb-side cabinet... At the tallest, the tank is being extended 18"...
09 - Propane Locker...
(above) The curb-side rear door lower panel was cut to have the access door for the propane locker... Originally it was the access hatch for the canister toilet...

In the inventory of stuff is a Xantrex 1800 watt inverter... If I put it in as a placeholder, it makes sense to me to just hook it up, and that is what I was wondering if it would be worth doing... I can see the use of 120 volt if I run power tools, or a microwave, etc., but I really doubt that...
For sure...The less gold I have, the more creative the project becomes...
Seriously, I have no formulas or ratios in mind, ever... It's mostly "has it been done this way before...???..."
09 - Interior essentials..
Made good progress today... Sad to say the pictures of that progress are lost in my computer's trash bin... I will re-shoot them tomorrow...
I worked on the layout and placement of the essential systems... First the entire rear floor was cleaned up... Gone are the...
08 - Roof Components...
(above) Solar up front to take advantage of the sun angle, the fan forward so my head does not hit the switches, and the roof rack overhanging the center section of the roof just slightly... Using what I have...
(above) Didn't think I wanted to use this, but it a...
The Earthroamer shell is 1/2" end grain balsa with polyester resin and significant fiberglass... It is rigid... It is heavy... A solid foundation to work with...
There was carbon fiber in the previous build... The pull-out bed was made of foam and CF...
Although CF is strong and light, it is pricey... A simple way to get nearly the same strength and stiffness is to use "S-cloth"... S is for strength... The other standard cloths with lesser qualities...
1/4" ply varies a lot in weight depending on the species... This underlayment grade is mid way on that scale... Alone it is too flexible and far from dent resistant... Epoxy and glass resolve those issues... Creating a composite sandwich with the next layer being foam insulation then another 1/8...
Why...???... We have been friends and coincidentally, me a patron of their business for a long time ...Friends help friends... All of my business relationships are based on that from the beginning...
Why...???... My friends at Fiberglass Supply appreciate many things about their friends...
06 - Fiberglassing The Roof...
(above) The edge gaps were filled with spray foam, troweled in, compressed... Once dry it is way less porous than un-troweled...
(above) The foam has been sanded, some gaps were filled with Bondo then sanded one last time...
(above) Using 6oz. Volan and Resin...
Trolling motor...???... Solar charged...???... With the light bar bolted up front...???... Hmmm...
