"the land of the viking "...
Not quite historically accurate or at least a bit misleading...
But seriously ; Iceland on a bike! Wow. You have courage and drive my friend! Respect!
So this commercial from 1985 isn't bragging? Nice front diff slam btw...
Anyway....what you drive is just a tool....it's how you drive it that matters.
@MoparBob... I know! I drove a M984A1 HEMTT wrecker for many years.....ran into my limitations on those itty-bitty goat trails in Kosovo. That is how I know that there is such a thing as "too Big"
I did love that dammed truck though....
Well, to each his own and all that. I don't think the rules are more (well, that is kind of subjective, I guess) than in the USA...just different sometimes. And with things in the US right now....not so sure we are any "freer" than here...
shouldn't mistake military rules for civilian rules in...
I have not been able to find anything specific about the AEV bumper...... sorry.
I have a bullbar/winch bumper fitted and have not (yet!) had any issues with it...
I am up north of Frankfurt a bit......drop me a line once you get here and set up and maybe we can meet up and plan some trips...
If you are planning on a Morrocco trip, I can only highly recommend Chris Scott's Morocco Overland book.

Of course it can be found on Amazon as well.....
So where are you heading in...
You do have to purchase 3rd party insurance (it is not too expensive) and for US citizens (and most European citizens) a visa is not required. You will need your vehicle ownership=ip documents...etc. If you want, I can put together a checklist of the things you need.....it sounds much more...
Besides, you will have to register it with USAREUR.....vehicle inspection and everything. So in effect you will have to meet German laws.
As for the specifics...let me ask around and I will see if I can find anything out for you.
Camp grounds in Germany (most of western Europe) are more...
Without going into the grisly details.....the LR4 (Discovery 4 over here ) is an excellent choice. I have driven them often (both on and off road) and I think you will not be disappointed.
That is how I do it......put it all in a sealable bucket (water, soap, clothes) and fix it to the back of the truck. Drive drive drive; rinse and repeat if needed!
