May go the Procomp route, 4" front with new spring pack, and 2" rear w/ add a leaf. Then likely add air bags. Should be adequate for intended purpose. And for grins and giggles, got a small microwave at Costco for the rear build out- can you say quick and easy popcorn?? While under way to boot...

    98 Disco I lift questions!

A 2" will be fine except the 265/75 or 235/85 will require the 'Camel cut' which is just a bit behind the rear tire. I suggest the 245/75 if you want to prevent trimming, plus they are cheaper with a wide selection of choices. The other popular size is 7.50/16... The other option is as Tom...

2000 Ford Excursion as expedition vehicle

Thanks- if you get a chance, a nice full side view pic would help a bit. And if you find those tires, I may be in for a set too ;-)

Need a 'little' Excursion help pls

The goal is as stated initially- predominantly highway miles with tons of gear, a family of four, and off road consisting of gravel/graded forest service roads- no real wheeling pre se. However, need to address the obvious insufficiency of the stock suspension, and the capability to hit the...

gavan- what tires are you running, and wheels as well? I ran that setup on a previous F-250 (using Rickson wheels) and loved it!! Not planning on towing as much this go around, but I suppose the 70 series sidewall would work for air down/sand... I may regear, and if I do, would add lockers as...

Need a 'little' Excursion help pls

Hey Chris, had a Quigley a while back, and enjoyed it, but like the ergonomics of SD/X better, sorry. I had an '05 Excursion (leafs) a few years ago, loved it (different application, and mostly used by the wife, who also enjoyed it), and it was a V-10, which this one is as well, but is an '00...

2000 Ford Excursion as expedition vehicle

How are you liking the 'X' code F-350 springs up front? What did you do shock wise, and how about the rear? What size tires on it now?

    1993 Camel Trophy 200TDI

We've been a bit incognito the past month with spotty coverage at best, but well tanned and rested ;-) Glad it is going well, and please let me know if I can help in any way!! I did speak to a couple other former CT drivers, but no info to speak of, sorry.

The time has come to build something practical and capable, but capable in an Expo kind of sense, not crawler/wheeler. We just returned from a month in Fl, but not chasing Disney. In fact, no amusement parks at all, but were heavily involved with the nesting Loggerheads as well as releasing some...

Already thinking like a true CT owner- think middle of the jungle, no 'shop' for a thousand miles, just trying to be semi watertight. Well done- true CT spirit!! Thanks for the 'plug' David, can't wait to see her again with the new heart!!

At Long Last - Bought a Disco I

Very good score, well done!! Good approach to familiarize yourself with the truck as well. Check your VIN as the fuel pumps changed mid year '97 I believe, and perhaps carry a spare, a serpent belt, filters, and a coil pack. She should serve you well for many many miles/years.

    affordable bumper/suspension

I have NIB OME lift, a set of BFG 235s, or 245's if you want no rubbing or trimming (a Camel cut is very common), and an ARB bumper- and roof rack should you be so inclined, as well as sliders...
