I use on of these. It's installed in the back of my truck with a plug in port on the outside. Usually the solar panel does the job, but I plug it every month or so to refresh it.
Recent rework on the overhead switch panel. I tried to blend it in a bit. I went a little crazy and made a scangauge mount, but I'm not sure I like it.
I epoxied two small neodymium magnets to the back of my garage remote and taped two more on the inside of the overhead console. No more awol...
Took the amber lights for a quick test. They were mounted on a license plate bracket, so really close together.
Not a ton of throw to them. It's a low and wide beam pattern.
I wonder if you could get away with using a heavy duty LCD mounting bracket. There's a ton of different types out there. I once had one for a pen tablet that was rock solid.
Any more details on those ditch lights you installed? I'm hoping something eventually comes along that I like better than my customized Firestik mounts/ditch brackets.
More for myself really. I'm going to find a big empty parking lot and see how they look. They were pretty impressive when I pointed them out in the yard.
I seem to like collecting lights more than actually using them... I have too many.
I can't recall any one specific place I read instructions, but Tacomaworld is probably the best place to look. I think I read a quote, "You haven't experienced pain until you've attempted a Satoshi mod". It's not one to try to do overnight for sure. I used a spare and worked on it a good week or...
I need some input on this one.
I have a pair of Rigid SRM2 flush mount amber driving lights that I was thinking of mounting into the front bumper.
I made a template to mock them up below next to the license plate. They would also fit great closer to the fog lights, but I'm not sure that would...
I've had the Diehard/Odyssey battery as my starting battery since 2012. It's also been linked to a Yellowtop since I couldn't decide between the two. That Optima has been used vigorously and still goes.
I got sick of cleaning up lead acid batteries. They've made a mess in the past several...
I tried out the DC Thermal a bit yesterday, but without really installing it and driving it around I'm not sure it's telling me much. With the vehicle parked and running and the heater connected to my auxiliary battery linked to the alternator, the battery still seemed be draining. There's two...
I hear you on that. I've been trying to figure out something that might work myself. I think I'll eventually go the Propex route, but it's not in the budget presently.
I've had the DC Thermal heater lying around for years, but never really got around to trying it out much. They are built to last forever though. I think mine uses the quartz tubes.
Also have this one.

I don't think either will...
That's what I'm seeing. In the last photo, it paints a picture. Front driver side drops, rear passenger comes off the ground. Momentum, angle on those rocks and maybe the weight of that tire...
I don't want to derail the thread, but I'd be curious how different materials impact thermal properties and ratings when specific to camper designs. You also have the options of fiberglass, aluminum, composite, etc..
