It looks like a good product but....what is wrong with just using a good ole heavy duty steering wheel lock? If you get the right one and lock it correctly it is very difficult to steal a truck. Sure you can cut the steering wheel or perhaps even the lock but that will take some big time work...
Good assement form the ad and previous ads.
I say it is a great candidate for a v8 or Cummins. Cut it, hack it up, convert it and make it better for the same kind of money as restoring or fixing it. Easier to get parts for and cheaper to run in the end. You could dump the stock diffs or keep...
Yeah...San Salvador, El Salvador. The other car looked much worse than your accident and it only cost us $250 more!

I was just happy to be driving away with pretty much no damage to my truck. This could have been the end of my...
cool pictures!
To bad you didn't make it down the Mex200...It is really good for surfing with dozens of places to stop off, camp and surf!
If you come through jackson Hole look me up. Few beers and a free place to stay, on me! We even have surfing here, on the Snake River if you can stand...
After driving 15,000 miles in my 04 Taco from Wyoming to Panama with a fully loaded truck I feel I can give you some solid advice.....
Frame plates: You want to add these in the rear. Behind the rear axle the frame is weak, buff it up or you may regret it!
Brakes: I put on all new brakes...
It seems my 1983 Patrol made issue #15 of Nissan Sports Magazine....since I have posted some pictures of the truck here I thought I would provide a link,

Thing is they didn't...
No worries and my pleasure! Glad people are still enjoying the trip report and the adventure I took.
All I can say to those who think twice about leaving the USA or taking a trip like I did is....you only live once! Better to try it and find out you don't like it then to never try and always...
Here is the problem I see with that....
Unless the compound they use converts the rust or nuetralizes it it will get worse. By covering it up with a compound it is only hiding the rust. Yours doesn't look bad, just some surface rust. Yet, if rust is not stopped it just gets worse. Do you know...
I am suprised you skipped the west coast of Mexico and the Mex200. It truely is a fantastic area of Mexico with tons of good camping. I had planned to do about the same route as you through the Yucatan but was short on time. Seeing the Cenotes (perhaps diving one) and Chetumal were high on my...
I learned to drive in an old Datsun Z car! But....
my first car was a late 70s Corrola, iirc...it may have been early 80s. That was over 20yrs ago. I had a few years of driving the Corolla and a few other ultra cheap cars. When I was 17yrs old though I purchased a 1987 FJ60, that was in 1990...
Nice truck....
but who is going to drive a $600k+ truck outside the USA? It doesn't make any sense to me, the amount of trouble this would get you in driving through 85% of the world. Great for driving around the USA/Canada or perhaps across Australia but otherwise pretty much worthless...
When I go on my make believe expeditions here at my computer I wear this one....
Sometimes though it just gets to be to much....like 15 pages of what is the best expedition hat! In those cases it is time to put on the....yes this really is a hat.
There is always a place and a time for...
