    Rim dimensions

My actual tyres being made today - TTS sent me pics of them going through the remould process, they are on Bridgestone M729 cases. They have been a super-nice company to deal with, the same for the tyre shop I'm getting them through, as TTS don't sell direct to the public, only trade and fleet...

    Rim dimensions

Got a reply back from ATW – the price for the rims is bearable, however the shipping, UK-VAT, and customs/import tax makes it too rich for our blood. However, will probably buy their flared fender kit. So we are going with 265/70-17.5 140M on 17.5x6.75 (et90, 12mm mounting plate) custom truck...

    Rim dimensions

I emailed ATW late last year but never got a reply, so started looking locally. I've sent another just now, so I'll wait and see.

:giggle: yep, even factored in 10mm for the thickness of a beefy steel rim mounting plate in reverse mount on the rear.

    Rim dimensions

Unfortunately my UK-spec truck has a 4.875 diff ratio instead of the usual 5.275. If I went to 17", I would need 33" (35" at a pinch) but there is nothing with a decent load rating in those sizes to match the rear axle. The truck will do mostly road/gravel mileage, so I will go for 17.5/19.5...

    Rim dimensions

I’m looking to have super-single rims made here in the UK (Aspect Wheels so far) and just wanting to confirm the dimensions I have measured/gathered are correct for my FGB71. I was hoping not to take off the wheels til I need to. Stud pattern – 6/222.2 (8.75) Hub hole dia – 165mm Stud hole dia...

    Clutch fluid

Thanks. I didn’t get an owner manual with the truck, but I did download a US-spec manual off the net. I had read somewhere that a lot of the US trucks were automatics, so I got a mental block – when I read ATF, I just assumed it was referring to automatics, regardless it says ‘clutch’ in the...

    Clutch fluid

Hi Folks I thought I'd should my truck a clutch fluid change - it looks and tastes (yes) like it has ATF instead of brake fluid, is this correct? (FGB71) Cheers

    Super Singles question

Using the Tremec gearbox website final drive calculator, I’ve worked out that at 56mph (90kph) which is the UK over-3.5ton speed limit, my truck on 285/70-19.5 will be doing 1900 rpm, which is just inside the hp/torque sweet spot. This is just 50rpm less than an OZ truck on 37’s according to...

    Super Singles question

The truck won't see serious offroad stuff - just snow, gravel roads and mild fire tracks, 1st-world travelling. I was more worried it would struggle on highway gradients with bigger tyres and the taller gearing.

    Super Singles question

Manual, only high range. The UK importers seem to think it'll never leave the tarmac!

    Super Singles question

I'm looking to go to super singles on my FGB71, but have a question relating to the increase in diameter/circumference, and the subsequent decrease in rpm and shift away from the power sweet spot (though with a turbo-diesel it's pretty broad and torquey). According to...

    Newbie with a Canter

I'm a Kiwi living in Scotland, and have recently bought a FGB71 for my next camper build, with the idea to see a bit of the world in the near future. A couple of years back I built a camper using a VW LT35 van... and although it has been great, and was a good guinea pig/learning curve, a bit...
