    National Luna Dual battery install

Very easy to install. The directions are clear and you don't have to disturb any factory wiring. I'll be installing this on my bro's 100

    Exterior Junction box?

Potted enclosures can be found at radio shack. They might not be sold as weather proof but some silicon can solve that. Maybe you can find a small pelican case to suite.

You like that? That's where I store my samurai :gunt: My ladder was just a hair too tight to the body so it contacts the spoiler. The rungs are also crooked. I'm waiting for my replacement from Luke. Once it comes I can start building the standoffs for the ladder where I can attach my...

Thanks 24 & the dude :26_7_2: I finally had a brief window of opportunity to hit the dirt. After my brother had his tent and roof rack installed at adventure trailers (good times :jumping: ) we headed for cleghorn ridge. We didn't have time to go very far, it was getting late. But we found...

Blue Sea fuse block ignition hot?

    6 hella 550's 55watts each 2 piaa 520's 85watts each 6 x 55watts = 330watts / 12volts = 27.5amps 2 x 85watts = 170watts / 12volts = 14.17amps total load (amps) from lights only = 27.5 + 14.17 = 41.67 amps add the vhf radio and any expansion and you're looking at a small solenoid to be able...

Blue Sea fuse block ignition hot?

I think the safest way to do it is to use a solenoid that's rated to the maximum current draw of all your accessories together. And you would use wire suitable to this same current rating from the battery to the solenoid and from the solenoid to the fuse block. IMHO a safer, easier approach...

    Doc's 05 Tacoma Build Thread

:iagree: Sorry to hear about the dent...it always hurts more when the dents happens off the trail...:( but line-x is just so rugged on the sides, it'll look good. I just removed my flares and put line x in it's place as well as on the rocker panels and I LOVE IT. Get-r-done, I wanna see!

Thanks BM. I used the battery clamps for the main battery connections just to have fewer connections landed under the bolt. I don't plan on having a lot of wires on the battery but I just want to avoid having a stack of lugs under the bolt. FWIW, the clamp type lug makes more contact...

With the isolator mounted I completed the last bit of 2/0, from the isolator to the main, and finished off some of the smaller wires. I double/triple checked all of my connections prior to landing them to make sure I didn't fry anything. Per the instructions I hooked everything up and this is...

The aux battery engine block ground went to an existing unused M10x1.25 hole under the headers, behind the a/c. This is the view from underneath. I sprayed the surface and hole with a contact cleaner and hit it with a wire brush, I also ran a tap in there to clean it. I wanted to make sure...

I then removed the center piece in front of the radiator to run the cable through. There's an existing run in there that I piggy backed to. There is plenty of room and it's not too hot - an ideal route. I cut and strip an estimated length of 2/0 to go from the aux positive to the isolator...

Refigerator, aux driving lights, flood lights, winch, 2m radio, water pump, gps. All great ammenities for overlanding, right? Unfortunately they only work if there's enough battery to run them. After needing my first jump start about 5 years ago I realized that dual batteries would be a great...

Optima vs. Odyssey and what model?

That's what I had in my taco before I sold it, except my starting battery was the 1200mjt. I was very satisfied with the setup. In my 80 I have the perfect switch and two 100ah lifeline deep cycle batteries, I just need to install the second battery still :( The reason I went with lifeline is...
