Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

He posted his numbers. 3600 empty. With gear and full tanks it sounded like he was around 4k. His review mirrors the 21ft Lance tow review. Nearly identical mileage and description if performance.

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

Pricy but the livinlite vrvs are nice. I was trailer shopping when livinlite first started making those. I almost ordered one. But a Costco blow out sale online for a Lifetime 4x6 mini Jumping Jack was too hard to pass up. $1800 delivered! We love it camping and dump runs it sees lots of use. No...

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

I want vetilated seats but the black denali interior is a no go for me. I switched to a light interior in 2010 from black. Not going back.

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

Trying to find that Airstream write up. Pretty sure he reported 15mpg average with a mix of 65-70mph and some stop and go with about 5500lbs. I like those mini toy hauler rigs goid value for the money and light! I bet 60-65 17/18mpg is possible with a lower height narrower trailer like that...

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

I really like them. My top favorite tire so far. They even have a little luggy look that fits the OB look. Surprisingly good in the slushy icy crap in Tahoe. Great in the wet. And handled dragging a 1800lb trailer up the nasty mudy dump road past two stuck 2wd pickups ;-)

Adding rigidity to semi-flexible solar panels?

If you have Tap Plastics near you. You can see a sample. Its reasonably stiff stuff. My 285watt LG panels on the house have a similar backing but framed with aluminum.

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

Really like the new rubber on the OB. BFG Advantage T/A Pro. Does nice in the nasty mud. Was great up at Tahoe in the snow and ice. Not too luggy it hurts road performance.

My New 2005 LL Bean Outback Adventure Rig

H6 is a nice engine. Very few issues. Best used Subie to purchase due to better care typically and more durable engine etc. The timing chain tensioner is a known thing to replace by a experienced subaru person given its not hard to screw up the new tensioner compressing it to quickly during...

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

There is a great 20ft Airstream tow writeup someplace. I read it some time ago. Several hundred miles full rv tanks sounded like it worked really well. 18ft small rv trailer would be a very easy match based on what I've read so far. I know three people with the Diesel Canyon. But all three are...

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

Thats the color I like. Light interior? Whats with GM only offering ventilated seats in Denali Trim and only ugly black interior? Sweaty work boot guys would love ventilated seat option in the base model!

Who tows with a diesel Colorado ?

Great towing thread in the diesel forum for this rig. HP and wheelbase length vs really big boxy trailers seems to be the area of weakness. One poster didnt like the truck because his 31ft rv house with no sway control gear was scary when semis passed him. LOL ahh OK... Others reported great...

    E350 Chinook Build

Cool rig! The weight over the rear end plus a locker will get you just about anywhere a rig that size will go. You got profiled ha! You wern't speeding it was just his "in" to attempt to find drugs. Pretty sure its against your rights to hold you. My lawyer brother would have had them call in...

Adding rigidity to semi-flexible solar panels?

Plastic cardboard type abs plastic panel. Keep in mind air flow behind the panel on hot days is important. Heat can be a big hit to your generation/output. I chuckle when I see near flush mounted panels on dark composite roofs with a fairing closing what little air gap they had. On hot summer...

    1985 4x4 Econoline - Road Trip Prep!

Carry two extra POS cables and a fire extinguisher. Its due to the goofy starter motor design Ford had in that era.

    1985 4x4 Econoline - Road Trip Prep!

He wont get 16mpg in a 85 boxy brick nose van. Even a brand new engine he might see 14mpg with a tail wind at 60mph.

    1985 4x4 Econoline - Road Trip Prep!

Almost forgot. The only tow we had was due to an odd ball relay in the ignition circuit blew during a road trip. Dead as dead can be. Was a real head scratcher the fix was easy but it took a Ford tech to figure it out.

    1985 4x4 Econoline - Road Trip Prep!

The ford starter in those is an odd ball design. Ours caught the POS battery cable on fire a couple of times. I just read that a kid discovered the modern Taurus starter is a direct swap and a big upgrade minus the fire and cooked pos cables. Be sure to drain/fill the AT old fluid led to...
