    Diesel News: POST HERE

It's one thing to drive 50 mph on the interstate. It's quite another to average 50 mph over thousands of miles including off-highway excursions for gasoline, and stoplights, etc. It's simply miles covered divided by time with the engine running. Go 60 mph for an hour, then spend 3 minutes...

OEM e-lockers, Ford & Tundra, any good ???

The newest truck in your anecdote is five years old. Newer Fords with the 3.5L EB or the 5.0L Coyote do better, as do the 2014 GMs, as do the Rams with the 8 spd.

How to get the best no haggle price on an order for a 2014 JKUL rubicon?

Then just do it. No variables. You don't care which dealer you buy from, or how they would take care of you after the sale so this really should be easy.

Best balance of mileage and capability?

Here's the official EPA fuel economy ratings for a 2000 Frontier Crew 4x4 and a 2001 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4: 4 mpg better would represent a 22% increase over the official highway rating

Best balance of mileage and capability?

There! See, you're going to fit in just fine. Now tell them that their tall skinny stiff tires, disconnected swaybars, and four hundred pound roof rack are unsafe on the freeway. That always seems to get their panties in a bunch!

Advice on buying an 80 or 100

YAY!!! 128 horsepower and 210 lb-ft in a heavier package (that's less power and torque than a 1FZ-FE gas). All for about $12,000 more!!! IF (and it's a BIG if) you get 33% better fuel economy, moving from say 13 mpg @ $3.50/gal GAS to 18mpg @ $3.80/gal DSL and driving 20,000 miles per year...

How to get the best no haggle price on an order for a 2014 JKUL rubicon?

If you're the type that enjoys scraping every last twenty out of a dealership, have at it Otherwise, figure out how much time you spend "saving" that money. If you make $50/hr, spending four hours researching and visiting dealerships to haggle costs you $200. Time is money, and free-time is...

Best balance of mileage and capability?

Come on guys, Merkin (the OP) has weighed in. He's already sure he'll get 2-3 mpg better than even the inflated fish-tale forum posters get with their Tacos, and he's obviously a Toyota-intender. So just let him buy his Tacoma and we'll all congratulate him and recommend what LED interior bulb...

Advice on buying an 80 or 100

The 100 is a bit larger and will be more comfortable, both for interior room (sleeping quarters too) and ride. Fuel economy won't be any worse than the 80, even with the V8. If you're going to do an 80, you'd be a little better served (IMHO) going with a 95-97 rig, one with airbags, R134a...

What should I replace the Hummer H3 with?

5,000 pounds is easy. It's 5,000 pounds and the aero load of a camper trailer that may be a strain for some "trucks" Note that my advice didn't include any big truck at all.... he wants a midsize, and there are plenty that would suit him Just make sure whatever you buy gets a set of...

    Chevy Express Van 2500/3500 pros/cons?

BTW, my 2005 Express 3500 Extended 6.0L had the G80 locker. The later Stablitrak units usually did not. Easy to retrofit the G80 as that rear end was widely used and in junkyards everywhere
